January 6, 20251 yr Reds do seem to have a lot of infielders though, some that are blocked. Would have liked that Competitive Balance pick in a potential Robert trade if they were hesitant to include multiple big prospects.
January 6, 20251 yr Also depends on how big one's belief is in Marte...but seems they don't want to mess with de la Cruz at SS and of course they finally moved on from India for Singer. McLain is the key...great two years ago and mostly injured last season.

Apparently they don't want to (or can't afford to) spend any more in free agency...it's the cheap "holding pattern" or year to year approach the White Sox perfected under KW.

January 7, 20251 yr 4 minutes ago, Bob Sacamano said: He didn’t mean more than Robert. I’m not sure what he’s referring to. The only thing I can recall people saying on here is that Robert is worth a lot more than Lux. Possible I’m missing some references though.
January 7, 20251 yr I will say this deal gives the Dodgers a couple of more pieces that Sox could be interested in with the extra pick and a highly regarded OF prospect. A deal could form around an OF prospect (DePaula/Sirota), one of their young Latin SSs (Vargas/Morales) the pick, and maybe even a 40 man guy they want to free up or a guy almost out of options.
