That said, comments like "I am never giving another dime to Reinsdorf " (just as one example) go beyond that. I am not surprised by the animosity, vindictiveness and even an apparent need for retribution by some, even in a sports setting. It is something that has unfortunately become more common in our society. So switch alliances is BETTER than not going to games? That's just wild. Bob Sacamano
I can't imagine myself going to more than 1 game this year: Opening Day. I usually go for free with my uncle. Won't spend a single penny inside the park though. Take the Metra, meetup with my buddy's big tailgate they do every year and eat and drink outside and then just sober up during the game.

He's getting our money whether we like it or not. I don't think being angry about the state of sports in Chicago makes one "not a fan". I let go of the Bears long ago, and I'm happy to not be referred to as a Bears' fan. I'll pay attention if they make the playoffs. Short of that, I might check the score Sunday evening, and that's pretty much it. Watch a highlight or two. I don't patrol any BearsTalk boards, or whatnot, to let anybody who speaks well of the team know they're saps for giving the Halas family their money. This doesn't make me smarter or better than anyone else. Just illustrating how I really can't grasp the anger. Direct it towards your HOA. Or Nazis. The Sox were so mediocre the last few decades, I went any weeknight I wanted on the free company tickets. Hit the Billy Goat downtown for a few before getting on the train. Catch a brat at the park. Train home. The three or four Sox hats and WS Champs t-shirts are probably the most money that Reinsdorf has gotten from me in the last 40 years.

zisk
Truth be told, The Sox team with this group of players is actually being overpaid as a group. They are probably worth 57.2 million. And that's in baseball dollars. In uber driver money it's about $75.

Still show up in huge numbers. NBA hell with hopefully a playoff home game or two for the checking account is their goal. At least Sox fans, at least us fake ones, get fed up. JR has to show his true colors and run the payroll down to nothing because people won't pay for this s%*#.
caulfield12
"While the Fish could opportunistically use a Stroman, Montgomery, Matz or Walker trade as a means of effectively purchasing a prospect or two, the likelier and more straightforward path would be to finally venture into free agency. Miami isn’t going to surrender a draft pick to sign Nick Pivetta, but virtually any of the other remaining rotation arms could make sense. Among the yet unsigned names are Andrew Heaney, Kyle Gibson, Patrick Corbin, Cal Quantrill, Jose Quintana, Spencer Turnbull, Ross Stripling, Lance Lynn, Jakob Junis and Alex Wood. There also some post-injury rehab candidates to consider (e.g. Anthony DeSclafani, John Means, Jose Urquidy)." mlbtraderumors.com Looking like Marlins will sign or trade for 1-2 veteran arms here and pass White Sox to make them lowest payroll. Tim Anderson only FA deal in last two years from new GM Bendix, who replaced Kim Ng. Chris Flexen not listed lol.
