He might be better than Chuckie Robinson, realistically.

and shouldn't.

So is one of Teel/Quero going to start in AA?

Silly me, my first thought was we signed all these catchers on the cheap so it's really not a problem cutting a couple later.

Then I remembered it's JR's team. He probably rations toilet paper in the locker room.

I watched Narvaez a good deal with the Mets. Really seemed old for his age. Catching is a tough job. Always liked him, so maybe this is a decent no-cost pick up. Unlikely he would be worse than Maldonado.

It feels like one should just so they can both play behind the plate regularly but both got to AAA last year. I feel like they will alternate every game between C and DH?

They could alternate between C/DH, with Narvaez providing the occasional spell when one needs a break. I'd be a little surprised if Quero sees action at 1B at this point.

At least Getz has learned that spending millions on an old bad catcher is a bad idea.  Old bad catchers are a dime a dozen.

Wouldn’t actually shock me at all if he beats out Thaiss for the backup spot.

Yermin next?

TLR just rolled over in his grave.

You know it's a bad signing when none even mentions flipping him for a lottery ticket later this year

More likely he will be designated for retirement like Oldy Moldy.

I remember hearing he cried when the Sox traded him away....did he cry again because this is the best he can get now?

Most players that are forced to sign with the lowly White Sox are probably crying on the inside at the very least.

It appears as if Sox have given up on Corey Lee.

Perhaps, but signing a washed-up Omar Narvaez to a minor league deal isn’t indicative of that.  This isn’t Narvaez from 4+ years ago.  He’s bad now.

This is nothing more than an insurance policy in the event Thaiss or Lee gets injured in camp.

Not unlike Stassi last year...

Stassi was a guaranteed deal though.  Narvaez is a minor league signing with an invite to camp.  This is more similar to when we signed Lecroy.
