So he's doing everything except one of the crucial things required to play a position.  This is not an encouraging update.  Hopefully he can start throwing soon, but I wouldn't expect him to be breaking camp with the club.

This is what I was thinking.  Drury and/or Gallo have a shot.

I may have missed something, I'll double check before Saturday.

Of the 33 games looks like we have:

20 - Video available

10 - Radio/audio only

3 - No broadcast options

Added bonus for the nerds, the vast majority of games will have Statcast too.

By my count, 7 of the most currently popular teams in baseball (or at least playoff-caliber) are near the bottom 10 of games with the least available Statcast games...wonder why that is?

Statcast needs the Hawkeye camera/tracking system, so if the ST park doesn't have them installed then there's no data. This is actually a big jump in availability from last year, since the fall league parks got Hawkeye this season for testing the challenge system (the ABS stuff also uses it).

That leaves a bunch of Grapefruit League squads at the bottom now (though obviously the orgs can still take initiative to install it and there are teams there where it's weird that they haven't yet).

Since the White Sox much discussed new focus on tech/analytics investment includes Hawkeye for all of the Sox affiliates too, I'm very much looking forward to more minor league Statcast data this season. Schultz spin rates and Wolkow exit velo data 🔜 👀

Not including Bush and Scholtens, the Sox have 70 players in big league camp.

36 pitchers (10 lefty)

6 catchers

16 infielders

12 outfielders

34 days until Opening Day.

Old listing habits never die...you and SSHM.
