In Getz’s defense, Santos and Mena haven’t done much of anything either. Looks like trash for garbage to this point. The Cease trade, yeah that’s rough.

I guess there’s still hope for Mena.  He’s only 22.  Fletcher could be a DFA candidate soon just like DeLoach.

To me, it doesn’t really matter all that much about how the guy we trade away does.  Santos had a lot of value on the trade market, and the return looks bad so far.

Zach DeLoach — DFA and no team wanted him

Prelander Berroa — elbow discomfort

Blake Larson — TJ surgery

Strains generally graded 1-3.  Grade one is the least damage.  Usually no tear and more of a stretched injury progressing all the way to Grade Three which is a complete tear. Would think this is a rest, NSAID, ice plus or minus steroid injection but I will defer to ptatc.

Doesn't the premise that the team trading away a player is predicting they won't be good later have a value in this?

Many people will say don't trade with Tampa because they know which ones will pan out and which ones won't?

@ptatc - What does this mean?

Bama doc is correct. The issue will be what is reported as strain. The definition of strain is that it's muscle related. The definition of sprain is that it's ligament related. People frequently use them interchangeably.  The muscle injury will rehab faster than ligament.

Grade 1 is the least severe if any injury involving 25% or less of the structural fibers.
