They are on a hot streak at the end of the season when all of the other teams are sitting their stars getting ready for the playoffs.  It happens.

Exactly.  And who were the Nuggets missing that was probably the difference in the game?

Oh yeah…

Marketing a toxic waste dump has its challenges.

  • Or the excuses for the front office

  • The bulls, while on a modest 7-3 run out of their last 10, are currently 9 games under .500 and in the play in tournament as the 9th seed.  They are not successful, they are not “good”, and after this

Reinsdorf couldn't care less about the Bulls' record.  As long as they are first or second in attendance every year.

Ironic that the Mars are the other team up at the top...both SHOULD have pretty disgruntled fanbases, but by and large consistently support their teams through thick and thin.

and the Lakers were sitting Lebron and Luka?

Maybe...just maybe Josh Giddey and Coby White are playing extremely well? Impossible.

The game against the bulls was literally Lebrons first game back from a 2 week injury break from a groin injury

There is no doubt this team is playing better right now.  But we have seen them play into the play in before, and lose to Atlanta and/or the Heat.  Every time.

They are.  I’m still not buying though.  And this hot streak is just going to ensure they will get another mediocre draft pick spot.  NBA Hell continues…

Oh yea, they are headed down.  Actually, it's the opposite .

Pass the hot sauce. Bang bang bang.

hahahahahahaha  Bite on the Bulls playing well when the pressure is off all you like.  Come back in a few years when the Bulls still don't win s%*# and are in the lottery.

Which is funny, because I can't recall a single discussion heading into 2024 from anyone that the White Sox were in fact tanking and had no plans on trying to win games. Which again, makes no fucking sense since they couldn't pick any higher than 10th anyways so what exactly are you trying to tank for?

I mean there's a difference between tanking for a high draft pick and just not being in a position to be competitive.

I don't think they were necessarily tanking, but I don't think they were trying to be competitive either. I think they were trying to field a respectable enough team to play out the season while focusing mainly on the early stages of the teardown.

That the team they put together ended up being the worst in history deserves every bit of criticism and ridicule it's gotten, but I don't subscribe to the notion that it happened while they were trying to actually compete.

The Padres are definitely try to compete (for now) and rostered Maldonado over Campusano one year later.

No doubt Getz assumed they would be at least around a 70 win team...not twenty or thirty games below that.

And that was with Crochet Fedde and a bunch of mostly veteran relievers.

Also, Clevinger obviously had a big fall off from 2023.

While I don't believe they expected to contend for a playoff spot, based on the things they said and the moves they made heading into 2024 there is no way I believe at all that they weren't trying to win.

I honestly believe they thought they would probably be in the 70's for wins based on just improving the defense and patching the holes the roster had forever and completely backtracked once the season started and everything went off the rails. No team entering a tear down is trading a SP prospect for a 26 year old low upside corner outfielder.

It is what it is at this point, here's to hoping this time is better.

Move those goal posts.

I didn’t put any goal posts down, only provided context to the game.  You are welcome to hop on the “Bulls are good!” Bandwagon, I just feel like I have seen Donovan teams get hot before and the first 3/4 of this season was absolutely atrocious

Well first it's they played the Denver Nuggets who had players out. Then it's all teams are sitting players. Then it's well they are playing their players but they just came back from injury. No one is saying they are making a run in the playoffs but right now they are good.

Stacey King, a member of the championship era Bulls, has been an incredible announcer who has really shined as the "baby Bulls, " as he calls them, continue to get better.

Ah yes, objective Stacey King.  Right up there with Hawk as a truth teller.

The Sox are flying on a new 737 Max 9 this year, probably due to all the complainers and haters.  I hope Boeing secured all the doors.

Bulls fans and I am one getting excited over another play in is pathetic. You know how much better giddey and matas have to get to just be a 45 win team? Oh and we have to overpay Giddey.

The team is going to be extremely different next season, a lot of the rostered players are gone

Yep, overpay Giddey and the Bulls still can’t afford to keep them all.  Not sure if Tray realizes this.

Ok we can argue bulls in NBA thread if needed lol

Well I was excited to watch Coby White for the Sox this year, but not anymore.
