And add Canaria too and play him opening day. Again, why not?? They are young and mabe ready to have a great April. Their bats arguably are as good as anybody we've got not named Robert. And Canario sitting at the end of Pittsburgh's bench probably demoralizes the Pirates' players, knowing that a player who doesn't deserve major league playing time is taking the roster spot from a player who does, and that makes them sad and lose more. A rebuilding team should have more young players in their pipeline to play over bad vets and career minor leaguers, especially when their current GM was with the team as director of player development from 2017 to 2020 and the assistant GM from 2021 to 2023.
