They also didn't get a full spring training's look at Jankowski. Perhaps they're evaluating him as AAA depth, too.

Venable knows all of his flaws and pluses already.

Maton 2/14 but 865 ops lol.

6 games is not a trend...let's see where they are at Game 40-54.

A lot more of a trend than a season where only 5 guys remain from last year's opening day roster.

The only plus defenders are Robert Taylor Rojas and Jankowski.

Vaughn has probably grounded out more than flying out. That’s an issue.

To the naked eye, it seems he tries to pull outside pitches and hits pitches down the plate to the opposite field.

You're not really making an argument, here. Last year's stats don't apply to the 2025 team. It's fun to pretend, tho.

Aww poor Javy. Maybe you can do some more fancy tags to make up for it.

Offense worse than last year and that is hard to do

This offense is just so painful to watch. Especially when Robert is being his worst self.

Well yeah, when you only spend money on superstars like Slater and Taylor.  I’m sure JR can’t wait to get rid of Robert this offseason and slash payroll even more.

They only signed stop gap players as the goal is to start bringing up the prospects while they are intentionally losing as they rebuild.

As a veteran would you sign a deal with a team where it's obvious this is the plan?

I almost bet Carpenter to homer before the game started but got distracted and forgot. f***

Will not a good move

Another stellar reliever acquisition by Getzy…

They don’t have outfield prospects to call up though.  Outside of the catchers and Meidroth, there’s no one else that seems close.

This bullpen is going to be just as bad as last year’s

Yep.

2 out runs killing the Sox year after year

Nice throw from shallow left field, noodle arm.  🤣

Just make Benintendi the full-time DH already.

Cannon < El Canyon

I don't think they're a first place team after all.

Baldwin coming to bat, only guy i look forward to seeing at the plate.

Baldwin, Sosa, Vargas and Robert….I will change the channel if anyone else is up

That’s why you actively try to acquire young players rather than start the season with the Taylor’s and Jankowski’s of the dumpster.  We are just wasting at bats on this bums.  The Pirates just grabbed one such player for cash considerations.

But as a veteran would you sign a long term deal with a team going through this process right now?

It's not if the Sox have the prospects to call up. It's when they will offer the longer deals and when the veterans think they have progressed enough to sign.

They aren't trying to win right now.
