Robert is still a trade asset. He's running very well, probably better than he has in at least a year. The bat's not there right now, but despite what a lot of posters believe on this site, he's not a malingerer. He IS undisciplined at the plate, though. And I'm sure he's demoralized by being on this historically bad team. He desperately needs new surroundings.

He had a chance to be a hero in a win yesterday and took the worst at bat I’ve seen someone have in this entire rebuild.  If he wants out maybe he should be good enough that another team would even want him.

Yep, ask his other bust brothers how fun is it to get your option declined and take a giant pay cut.

Is he still upset about the trade?

Vargas upset about the trade…

Vargas 20 pounds lighter…

Vargas with 20 pounds more of muscle…

All versions suck.

Period.

The End.

It’s quite comical that in a month or two, Jerry is going to be asking for a billion dollars from the state.  Having the worst team ever with horrific attendance sure is a good way to influence legislators.

He hasn’t homered in like 50 games.  He’s completely broken.  No one wants him if he’s like this.  If he’s demoralized and struggling because of it, he’s a colossal idiot because he’s costing himself a fortune.

Exactly.  No team is paying what will be remaining on his $15 million salary for this year along with his $2 million buyout.  Teams have fourth outfielders that hit better than Robert has in the past year.  And that’s not even to mention how injury-prone he is.

Andrew Vaughn: 5 for 39, 10 K's, 128/209/465 slash

Miguel Vargas: 7 for 42, 14 K's, 167/271/214 slash

The cornerstones of this 'rebuild'.

Next Spring, Vargas will lose the 20 lbs. they were so excited he gained this past offseason. They will say the extra weight was the problem.

I don’t think anyone thought Vaughn was part of this one. He was a bust in the last one.

They construct cornerstones much like pigeons construct nests

We play AL Central teams more I thought

Each team now plays their divisional opponents in only 52 games, decreased from 76 games from the previous schedule format. This means each team will play their divisional opponents in 13 games across four series with seven games at home and six games away (or vice versa) for a total of 26 divisional games at home and 26 away.
