Plus I can see him and Poles dealing with each other alot. Win - win.

Kyyle23 Posted yesterday at 03:21 PM Share Posted yesterday at 03:21 PM His defense was pretty soft all year but it’s hilarious that Jerry World kneecapped him the week before the season started when they shipped off Parsons

Wasn't a great defense personnel wise but I think they are right to expect at least average given what he had and the division they were in. bmags Posted yesterday at 04:15 PM Author Share Posted yesterday at 04:15 PM That said, go back to lake forest or wherever that was and enjoy a beautiful lake house and chill out, Flus.

It’s kinda crazy that it seems getting a HC job basically ruined Flus’ future job prospects.

I think it was comin regardless...hell wasn't the story that Colts were moving on from him had Bears not hired him? I thought he did a decent job with our defense, but there is a low ceiling. Biggest issue is when you have a good offense, like he did in Dallas, his defense doesn't get the ball back to them (see Bears game where we had a like 12 minute drive in the third that iced the game). But when your offense is bad, it made it look like the games were 'close' because he limits the possessions. I don't think NFL offensive head coaches want a philosophy that limits their opportunities to score, and it's gonna be an issue for him. He also just never seemed to have good Dline play in terms of pass pressure. Extremely annoying how good Al Quadin Muhammed looks in seattle when he was absolute toast under flus. Maybe they thought that ayo guy would have same impact here but key is to avoid any indianapolis defensive lineman.
bmags Posted yesterday at 05:11 PM Author Share Posted yesterday at 05:11 PM so wild to me that Quinn soured on Kliff. That offense still had juice despite the terrible injuries. I'm assuming him and Jayden stopped getting along or something? If I'm Joe Schoen I'm putting my keys in his hands.
WhiteSox2023 Posted yesterday at 05:13 PM Share Posted yesterday at 05:13 PM On The Score, Patrick Mannelly is basically saying he is scared that the Packers are going to target the hell out of Nahshon Wright because he gets burned so bad. I texted my friend I have this vision of Matthew Golden getting a 45 yard streaking touchdown over Wright to secure a 20-16 win. Seems so much like every packer game - the random no one getting a deep ball catch esp after bear fans keep gloating about golden.

Its worrisome - also I kind of laugh at all of the get rid of DA so we keep Al Harris. Yes, our DBs had a good number of picks - but Stevenson isn't even hitting the field anymore (unless its his hip), Brisker has been healthy but not making any impact plays, JJ (injuries) but he has been his worse...yeah we got something out of Wright but I don't see it the same way others do. I'm not knocking Harris either - but I don't think he has done anything amazing either.

I would give him more credit (though not the defensive play calling)… getting that many secondary takeaways with a bottom 5 pass rush is impressive

But the interior of the D is very weak - Poles has failed miserably here (Jarrett, Dexter, Pickens, Shemar (injury), and the Colts guy have all been major investments whether draft picks or free agent spend - yet the production and interior penetration is weak. Running defense is bad, gap control is bad, etc. Dexter has flashed from time to time - but he looks more like a rotational piece than anything else. But when your interior is weak and your ends are mediocre - the combo is even worse...combine that with a poor secondary sans Byard (I have been really bummed out on Brisker as he just doesn't look like the player he was before his concussion issues). Not saying he's bad - but he's not flashing a lot - just a solid safety. The DBs are horrendous - whether Gordon/Jaylon/Smith healthy would have changed that is a moot point. Our LB play has been sub-par too. Edmunds was good to above average pre-injury...since than it hasn't been the same. Hopefully its more of he just isn't 100% (but trending in the right direction)...but that is just a soft D. Good thing is - some of those areas could improve with health / offseason...others could be filled / improved with solid draft picks (you can find good LB's in 2nd/3rd/4th rounds). Chisoxfn Posted yesterday at 06:15 PM Share Posted yesterday at 06:15 PM Interesting the Kingsubry move. I guess this is probably 2 fold - clear disconnect - but maybe they also want to get ahead of replacing Kliff if he gets a gig too. With Jayden there - its still an attractive job for an OC trying to make a name for an eventual HC job. But amazing what a year makes for Washington. Reminder that the goal is sustainable success and I want to see us have another strong season next year, including strong draft etc, to show that we really are different...but at this point, I really think Ben is different in terms of the standard he sets and the relentless pursuit of excellence. And I think he breeds that throughout his coaching ranks and throughout the player ranks.
Lip Man 1
Shocked that Harbaugh got the boot in Baltimore after all that he's accomplished. If the Bears hadn't already grabbed Johnson, I'd hire him in a second. He won't be unemployed for long.

Kyyle23
I wonder if Kingsburys desire to be Head Coach again came out a little bit when the season went sideways and Quinn was done with it. Kingsbury has had a very weird Head Coach trajectory, and I wonder if he is even worth it for a Gm to gamble on again after Arizona ended with a thud

Their season got screwed by the Lamar injury, but even so, Harbaugh has been blowing a lot of winnable games with them in recent years. Not to mention all the issues in the playoffs. One reason I'd be more interested in Kliff than Nagy is Kliff could always design a running scheme, and Nagy still has yet to show he can. But as a full HC, Nagy seemed more competent.
