So the Bears get screwed in all of this because the Falcons decided to create a position out of thin air less than a month ago and gave it to a guy with no front office experience. He's even said he won't be managing personnel. What's to stop the Bears from creating random positions above the general manager, promoting Poles to it, and then poaching some assistant GM from the Packers or Lions to be the new GM? It would technically be a promotion and we wouldn't be giving our rivals any picks. It's a terrible loop hole and a bad precedent to set.
