The Bears stadium plans they released called for a capacity barely larger than present.  I cant find it now, but Ill eat my hat if they have over 70k seats.  Owners dont want more regular seats, only luxury.

I believe he said it was the loudest he's ever heard a game at Soldier Field.   Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but he did NOT say it was the loudest he's ever heard a football game. 

He said this was the 31st time he's done a game at Soldier Field and this was the loudest he's ever heard the place.

The Bears have been trying to get out of Soldier Field for almost as long as they've played there.   They moved there in '71 and in 1975, Halas was seriously considering a new stadium at Arlington Park.  Of course, they stopped looking to move when the 2002 renovations were done, but that didn't even last 20 years before grumblings about leaving the place surfaced again.

The whole "Bears weather" being a huge home field advantage thing is pretty much an urban legend.

A Bears playoff victory in a dome in Hammond would be louder.

I just watched a video on Youtube where the  Governor of Indiana and the Mayor of Hammond talked about the proposed Indiana Bears stadium. The Mayor of Hammond said this should be settled soon if the Bears are going to move to Indiana.

The White Sox have one of the smallest fanbases in MLB after 125 years in so-called "Bridgeport", which is more depressed and isolated than the South Loop.  I am not sure why you 100% ignore the current condition of the fanbase in relation to where the park is now.

And no, Bridgeport is not more isolated that that sh1thole that Auchi and his surrogates call the "78." There are 77 neighborhoods in Chicago and that vacant brownfield isn't one of them. The WSox will never move to that desolate, isolated  lot.

Those who live in Illinois in the thread, will a move to Hammond or Gary increase the time it takes to go to a Bears game? Would it bother you if they played in Indiana? Would you be concerned about the loss of tax revenue?

So building a stadium on a lot that is far less accessible and far more inconvenient for fans will somehow increase the fan base ?
