The cardinals have their own huge boondoggle stadium, why would they want to move again.

I was strictly speaking as an old Cardinals fan.

  • The Sox aren’t moving to Nashville or anywhere. Nashville will get an expansion team or nothing.

The following were able to get massive stadium projects done in Illinois: Fire, Northwestern (Ryan Field), Cubs (Wrigley renovations), and Bulls & Blackhawks (1901 Project). Yet, under McCaskey and Warren the Bears stadium debacle has dragged on for years and now looks like it'll end with a massive $1B taxpayer handout to the Bears in Indiana.

Plenty of blame to go around with the Bears debacle, including Mayor Johnson, but f--- McCaskey and Warren. I hope Justin Ishbia has been paying close attention to how the McCaskeys totally botched this while projects like McDonald's Park and the 1901 Project got off the ground incredibly quickly.

Lawmakers frustrated at Bears negotiating tactics.

State Sen. Cunningham: “They pivoted between various plans, back and forth between Arlington Heights and the lakefront, and that shifting continued right up until the spring, when they were publicly saying there was a binary choice between Arlington Heights and Hammond, while they were conducting, you know, let’s call them back-channel discussions with the city of Chicago,” he said on WSCR-AM 670. “I think they pumped hope into the idea that a lakefront stadium was still possible and that made it all the more difficult to get (state lawmakers from) Chicago to support a plan for Arlington Heights.”

No one should be surprised that a McCaskey led endeavor is screwed up totally.

So I've been to a few games now this year.

It's not just the product on the field that has gotten better.

  • I have not been stuck in long lines to get into the stadium, including Saturday where I arrived only 10 min before first pitch

  • I have found that while I'm certain some lines move slowly, I have been able to choose spots better to get food/drink and back to seat within the time between innings

  • We have a fundraiser night for our baseball league where we bring 2500 or so kids, that process of waiting for the on field parade used to be brutal, sometimes even missing the window for the parade and some kids miss it. This year it was a breeze getting in, shorter wait times, perfectly set-up.

I'd say from at least 2015-2022 I really, really had frustrating experiences with all of the above. This year it's been a dream. I'm sure there are some games that may have been a problem, but for a 37k game to be ablet o get right in the stadium and then be able to get food and drink and not miss 2 innings? I thought I'd give props there.

The Hammond Wolf Lake Lost Marsh site might not have as much room for the Bears as previously reported. It might not be big enough for a "stadium district".

That's terrible as I was really counting on spending a lot of my future free time and money hanging around a slag heap in Indiana outside gametime

I can't say I disagree with IL lawmakers here. Note how Jerry Reinsdorf went to Springfield himself to try to get a deal for a new Sox stadium. As much of a bullshit request that was (taxpayer money for a new stadium), give Jerry credit for meeting lawmakers in person to make his stadium push. Where's George McCaskey in all this mess? It's his frickin team! It sounds like neither McCaskey nor Warren were in Springfield during the spring session.

Springfield to Bears: Tell us what stadium deal you want

Illinois lawmakers, it seems, are done with guessing games.

Kam Buckner: “Right now, Springfield has spent a lot of time trying to guess what the Bears want. The next step isn’t for legislators to guess better. The next step is for the Bears to become active participants in designing the solution they’re asking us to pass, and we are ready and willing to do that immediately.”

Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Stars leaving American Airlines Center to build their own (separate) arenas so each can build entertainment complexes on the land around the new arenas! Ishbia knows this is a path toward greater profit! It is going to happen on the Southside...just wish we knew more details. I get why we don't...but doesn't stop me from wanting more info!

JR has zero interest in a new stadium. He wants this team to win and the franchise to be successful. That is his focus and so far this season, he has to be very pleased.

Maybe, if the White Sox contend to the end JR will have to pay rent this year.

Who is this JR?

He's only pleased because they are selling more tickets. That's all he cares about.
