It's fine for Fenway since it's super old and historic. It would be lame to have that in a new stadium though.

Maybe Jerry hopes to secure a stadium deal before he sells as that would give a huge boost to the franchise's valuation while Ishbia is laying the groundwork for his own stadium plans in the (likely) event that Reinsdorf doesn't get a stadium deal done? Just a wild guess.

But according to Brooks Boyer a couple of month ago, they're still pursuing a ballpark on the 78 while we keep getting these reports about what Ishbia is doing to buy the Amtrak site. Biggest reasons...that he would eventually be able to get the controlling shares, at least the option to buy them from 2029-34.Many of the Ishbia articles with attached comments expressed the opinion he was interested in being part of a new stadium project as well, but it would take some deeper searching.
