The Sox are a horrible look for Sox player development, team is straight awful

Two years in a row we facilitated playoff runs...Dodgers with Kopech and Edman and a slew of relievers, Brewers with Vaughn now.

And took away Bryse Wilson lol.

"After a failed run with the White Sox, Vaughn has become one of the best hitters in baseball since he got to Milwaukee, a key part of the Brewers’ recent success. Milwaukee, which is an incredible 39-11 since trading for Vaughn, will be without Jackson Chourio for the next few weeks as he recovers from a hamstring injury. As a result, the Brewers will need their new first baseman and his increased production even more down the stretch as the team looks to tie a bow on the NL Central title and make a run at baseball’s No. 1 seed in the postseason."—Russell Dorsey, Yahoo Sports

Also include our hitting coaches. What is the explanation that Vaughn is doubling his production with the Brewers within a few weeks?

Another bomb.

Would make me feel a little bit better about my assessment of vaughn when drafted if he just dominates for a few years after leaving the Sox.

I see your point but not to me.  It would still just show what a failure the Sox organization is that they couldn’t get anywhere near this kind of performance out of Vaughn.  Everyone knew that Vaughn was a top bat in that draft.

Fuller probably just never got a chance to meet with Vaughn or something…  🤣

It should be so embarrassing for him

The Cease trade was bad enough.  I’m sure he’s just happy to actually be employed in a position he’s not qualified for with a boss that doesn’t like firing anyone no matter how worthless.

The question is WHY didn’t Vaughn perform like this for the White Sox???   Until this organization starts figuring out how to get their top first round picks to live up to expectations , we will have a hard time turning this thing around

The Cease trade deserves criticism.  People ripping the Sox or Getz over Vaughn being traded and then magically being good is revisionist history at its finest.  The dude sucked for years with us, every single poster here wanted him gone, and it’s almost all but a certainty he wasn’t willing to change with us.  People ripping Fuller when there is empirical evidence of Fuller driving meaningful change in getting guys to lift and pull is the cherry on top.

Also, not sure what people expected to get for a bad, one-dimensional, RH 1B who could only put up a 78 wRC+ after being demoted to AAA.  Civale isn’t good, but they got him to eat innings done the stretch which was a better use of salary than the s%*# production they were getting from Andrew.

Again, to every fan base besides ours, it’s extremely embarrassing.

Random aside but this heater the Brewers are on is legendary. Down 8-1 after 2 and now in the lead in the 6th. They keep it up and tonight will be 13 in a row.

As a Cubs hater, I think I want the Reds to win

246 .725 Another hit, Yelich with monster of a game

With 14 HR on the season (9 with the Brewers).

Sox still need a 1B.  What do you think Getz could offer the Brewers for him in the offseason?  🤣

And they looked atrocious in the first few games of the season.  And later, I watched them completely melt down in the 9th and blow a big lead against Arizona.  And now this.
Things can turn.

Every fan base besides didn’t watch the dude suck for 2,400+ PA’s with us and is clinging to a high 1st pedigree that was really never warranted with hindsight.

The reality is Fuller has done some nice work this year at the major league level.  This is the first time in years I can see meaningful change in approaches across multiple players and where guys come up and actually have some semblance of a plan of attack.  Andrew Vaughn was rumored to be stubborn and anti analytics.  I don’t buy for a second that he’s suddenly Barry Bonds, but if he is, then maybe we should point the finger at the player himself.  Dude was given endless opportunities and was pure garbage for most of his tenure.  Honestly, dude can go f*** himself for not even finding a way to be respectable bad when he was here.
