WhiteSox2023
He’s back! Andrew Vaughn went 3-for-5 with a run scored and two RBI against the Blue Jays on Friday.

WestEddy
Most people wanted Andrew Vaughn non-tendered last winter. The whole thing is kind of a wash.

That’s not really how trades work. Vaughn is still contributing to the Brewers so they obviously won the trade.

Well they are getting more out of Vaughn than the Sox did with Civale. He helped spur that long win streak when a bunch of their guys were on the IL so yes I agree you AND the Brewers are going to make the playoffs. No question as it turned out they got the best end of the trade. All the Sox got was another stiff who ate some innings. And I'm not saying they should have kept Vaughn, he needed to get out of this insane asylum as soon as possible to try to get his career going again. 1
caulfield12
If the Sox "won" Vaughn for Civale...then they essentially lost in the first place even offering him a 2025 contract. And there's still no certainty about who plays 1B for next year, either.
caulfield12
"Over his time with the White Sox, Civale made 13 starts and had a 2-7 record with a 5.37 ERA, 55 strikeouts and 26 walks over 67 innings. While he has a career-worst 5.26 ERA so far this season, the Cubs are hopeful the 30-year-old right-handed pitcher can boost their rotation for their stretch." Bringing back Bryse Wilson clearly a big win...right? Saved some money on Civale I guess.

almagest
Civale would’ve been a decent bullpen option. Better than some of the guys out there for sure. Not sure why they let him go, unless they did him a favor in allowing him to be in the bullpen on a better team.
