There is but Sox would have to pay somebody. That goes against the Prime Directive.

Nice pick up though by Getz in Houser.

Okay, man. Well sorry they won today. It obviously made you cranky. Hope you can get through it.

I don’t know, if he doesn’t turn it around this will be almost 2 full years of looking completely lost at the plate. Terrible pitch recognition, bad contact, almost no game power.

With that said, the Angels will probably offer him a major league deal.

Every time someone has said something about Robert being traded I've taken the opposite side of it and been right. Nightengale said he'd likely be traded by Memorial Day I said he wouldnt be. Same thing when the Sox picked up Taylor and everyone said Robert was about to be traded I didnt think so. When people here and Nightengale thought he'd be gone along with Crochet  at last seasons TDL I said I thought it was not a good chance of either of them getting traded by then or something along those lines. Mightve said it was 50/50. Can't remember. Probably glad it didn't happen that soon with Crochet and might've  been a mistake not dumping Robert if they had any decent offers. But despite how bad he is this year it's possible since he's cheaper a team might want to take that chance on him this year.

There's not many others you can put into late innings for defense and PR that are also capable of a HR in extra innings. Heck of a guy to have as your 4th OF too on a contender in any OF position.

Perez, Houser, Shane Smith, Vasil, Civale  those are all pretty good finds. They have all done well for pieces others teams were willing to discard. Perez a FA but was pitching well before he got hurt. Even so they probably got more bang for their bucks than any 5 pitchers new to their team this year for as little money as they're getting. That's like jackpot territory for garbage picking.

That won't get much of anything in a trade. At best some pitching lotto tickets they can hopefully turn into something.

I never said they'd get much, just that I thought they'd trade him .

OKC shows even the Sox have a chance.

Funny how Sheets turned out to be a better trade piece for the opposing team than Robert will be. Robert is an abysmal hitter/good fielder. I don't see a change of venue saving him like Sheets.

The Thunder front office probably pulled off the best feat in sports history with that team considering how tiny a market. Incredible regular season record proves postseason was no fluke. Not sure how they worked the salary thing but they have great players and apparently aren't making Thunder owners go broke. Some tank lovers will tell me they tanked/rebuilt to get this good. I dunno about that. Hopefully somebody will write a piece on how they got this good. Greg doesn't merely accept they did the tank/rebuild thing. They have some players who other teams passed on, etc. Whenever I hear "Thunder" I think of thunder buddies in the underrated movie, "Ted."

The Paul George/SGA trade is one for the books.

Very simple.  SGA Williams and Holmgren....with lots of complementary glue pieces like Dort Hartenstein Wiggins Caruso Wallace.

Need 3 difference makers.

The Thunder spent YEARS trading off Hall of Fame players because they couldn't afford them. They are the poster child of successful rebuild.
