Red Sox "more interested in" Civale than Houser

But interested teams are grabbing other targets — like the Phillies grabbing Bader.  One less suitor for Robert.

Hopefully it's because the Sox gave them an offer to beat and they can't.

There is still like 5 hours left.

Correct. And several deals to make. We hear it every year that smaller deals weren't made because staff was too busy working on bigger stuff. Just get them done and save Robert for the last hour.

I think they have two actual deals to make. Houser and Robert. I just don't see any others happening.

I think a few relievers should be moveable. Not for much, but may as well get guys what you can for guys like Altavilla, Wilson, Gilbert, Eisert. I could definitely see Michael Taylor being of interest to someone as a bench piece.

Cheap starting RF for next year.  I wouldn’t be surprised and I think Jerry agrees.

I guess there could be very limited interest, but insane to hold on to Tauchman. You've struck gold with him having a career year, and banking on him at 35 years old next year to start is just wild.

only if you ignore "one of the worst pens in baseball" part.

Stepping away from the trade frenzy, you still would have to replace those guys.  Then the question is how?  Even dumpsters get emptied once a week.

Totally co-sign here.  If the Sox have most of these veterans on the roster tonight, Chris Getz absolutely failed in his job.

He's more useful as a bridge to Braden unless someone is willing to give up a Top 10-12 player.

But it’s true.  This is what losing teams do.  If the trade deadline has passed and Getz has only traded Slater, he’s right, it’s a failure.

You can’t tell me that Slater is the only player he could reasonably manage to trade.

Another preemptive strike. Just cannot wait for it to actually happen. Hey I called the doomsday scenario 1st because I'm an unhappy Sox fan but if he does trade some of them I reserve the right to be unhappy about the return.
