Obviously the game didn’t start at 11:00pm I turned it on like “hey the Sox are up” and then the game was over. I’ll take it. It was like a Buehrle game for you.😛

Autumn Dreamin
Also the Angels are wild for not at LEAST cashing in on Kenley Jansen in this market. In 2023 at least they had the (still shortsighted) "gotta go for it for Shohei" argument. But what in the world made them optimistic about leapfrogging 4-5 teams for a wild card spot this year? Their farm could use the help too, I see a lot of their AA team vs. the Barons and they are the worst team at the level. Good luck to them I guess, thanks for my franchise catcher 🤷♀️

Just like today . Sox aren't going to make the playoffs. You're going to get a top draft pick this year. Might as well finish bad enough to get a top 3 pick. It's not like they went from bad to great in a week. Just enjoy the ride if you can.

Angels have some good players; but the team in the West that has a lot of young position players is the As. They will be really good, soon.

I knew the game started, and I was busy and had it on in the background, then I checked in like “the Sox are up 1 zip, let’s see if we can hold it”…then the game was over. I thought it was, like, the 4th inning. Welp. Take the win. Nice showing from Civale. 1
GreenSox
I've been on the Leasure bandwagon for a while. Good to see him get positive results. Command still need improvement. But he's got the stuff and the poise/guts to close.

September 9, 2003 - With one move Sox manager Jerry Manuel perhaps cost his team a post season playoff berth and eventually led himself to be fired. In a game the Sox were leading Minnesota 8-2 in the ninth inning, Manuel brought in relief pitcher Jose Paniagua to get some work in. The Sox had a one game lead over the Twins and this was the second of a four-game series at U.S. Cellular Field. Paniagua allowed four runs giving Minnesota momentum even though they’d lose 8-6. The Twins promptly won the final two games, swept the Sox the following week in Minnesota and won the second of three consecutive divisional titles. Paniagua, as he was leaving the field, made an obscene gesture at home plate umpire Mark Carlson and was released by G.M. Kenny Williams the next day. Manuel’s dismissal would come a few weeks later. There has always been debate over the impact of this incident in the divisional race but Twins players have been quoted as saying it was a difference maker.

He is willing to write the checks but he wants to win so bad all the time he forced his gms to make the dumbest moves. I actually put him worse than Jerry - which is crazy to even think cause Jerry is awful. Moreno cares 10x more but can’t get out of his own shadow. I was at that game and you could absolutely feel the vibe shift in the stadium. Walking down the ramps, there is usually a great energy after a win....there wasn't that night. It's definitely one of the craziest things I've ever experienced in baseball. I never doubted again that momentum was a real thing in the sport and it absolutely can carry over to the next day....and beyond.
