8/7 Gamethread vs Mariners

Rojas has to be done whenever Meidroth/Vargas are back off the IL.

I feel for him because he clearly hasn't been right since the ST injury, but it is what it is.

I can live with rookie struggles, but there's no room for a vet making mistakes like that.

I'd look to put in my 2 cents to get Rojas off this friggin team...and I mean now. I don't give a s%*# who you bring up from the minors to replace him.

This was a horrible rebuild game. Quero is pathetic against RHP and Colson was trying way too hard.  0-4 now including the choke job against the Angels.

Brooks hit a homer, Smith bounced back, and Taylor is filthy.

Which is why I chuckled when posters last weekend were questioning my line of thinking that it’s not a foregone conclusion the young guys will continue to improve. Were these fans not around for the last rebuild??

Will Quero drop the switch hitting?

This is true but the one constant is it’s the same organization. I know, I know, Getz is transforming and modernizing the organization. I’ll believe it when I see it.

Needs to get way better or Teel is going to get a lot more playing time

Quero does seem much better defensively than Teel...or am I wrong in that assessment?

I just don't overly trust our old head of player development at the time when noone developed.

Once JR is no longer the owner, there will be changes and for the better.  Not sure if Getz or even Venable will still be with us.

The both are bad receivers. Quero's arm is above average. Teel I don't even know if he's a catcher long term. His arm might not be good enough.

Quero framing stats are awful.  Teel has a ton of passed balls.  Lots of room for improvement.

22-25 year old catchers get better defensively as long as they have decent physical tools all the time. And both guys do imo. Quero isn't a big guy but he's got a quick release. Teel just looks like a pretty good all around athlete. So if they work at it, no rush to move either guy. I think for now they are handling it pretty well, at least now that they are working in more at DH.

12th time this year the Sox had a lead in a game in the 7th inning or later...and lost the game.

This one is different in that a pitcher wasn't responsible, it was fundamentals (which the Sox wouldn't know about if it bit them on the ass.)

"Little things" like fielding win and lose games as well as situational hitting, Sox 1-17 in the game RISP.

Pathetic.
