I've never understood how hitters can wear sunglasses when they hit. Seems like it would make it harder to see the spin.

You might be right, but he barely jogged to 2nd and then stutter stepped. And the way the cutoff man caught it, it would have been awkward to spin and make an accurate throw.

Was listening to a game in a background yesterday where this came up in a broadcast interview, and the guy said the sunglasses guys wear to bat are different colors/filters specifically to account for being able to still see the ball.

Oh, I don’t think he’s fast. But he touched third a fraction of a second after the cutoff man caught the ball. If he’s a third of the way home at that point, I think he makes it. Definitely would have been close, but I think he makes it.
