It was one of the worst base running games in a long time for the Sox.  3 giant mistakes

It's called fundamentals, something the Sox completely suck at and yet nothing is done to correct the stupidity. Ever.

There's no way in hell this group doesn't lose 100+ games.

Have now lost 14 of their last 17.

Win probability went down 39.1% with Colson foul out DP.

Two critical runners wiped out at home in this one.

team's still horrific

Can't even beat the flailing Twins. ...who dumped their vets at the deadline like Getz should have done.

Pitching is in awful shape going forward due to uncertainty

We have like maybe 4 guys in the entire 26 man roster pitching wise that might be worth anything long term. I know you don't sign bullpen arms in rebuild years but goodness man, we got a long way to go. Most teams that hit on guys like Crochet aren't trading them until their walk year (if even) for reasons. Our org however is constantly needing to get anything they can for them.

Even dumped guys under control like Varland...

I can't believe another season is almost over. And Jerry didn't take a hit in his wallet at all. Our fans are so good that attendance wasn't half bad again this season. I would say next year we currently project to be a .450 team. So that's another wasted season. Ugh.

.450 (73-89) would be marvelous.

Kenny Williams only had a record that bad when the 2007 team spiraled to 72-90.

Not just the White Sox and lack of fundamentals. Yankees had 4 errors and even a balk for a run in game the Red Sox  on Thursday. Bad teams always seem to make bad plays in big games.

Or call it the Bristol/ESPN Bias...

I don't know how anybody can criticize White Sox attendance. They  are going to draw 1.4 million this year. Not bad considering everything.

The Yankees are too expensive to be bad.

And that hadn't happened to NY since 1932 or some crazy number of  years, right?

Was at the game yesterday. Was nice to see offense. Could have easily won the game if they didn't give outs away on both defense and the basepaths, even with the bullpen shitting the bed expectedly.

I will say, even with the loss, it was a very fun night. The crowd was full and energetic. Lots of elvis's around. Parachutes. Live Elvis performance before the fireworks show. While the Sox fail year after year to put a good product on the field, and let me be clear I would much rather most of my fun be had with the actual players on the field playing well and winning than with the extra promotional events, but the Sox really do a good job with their entertainment at the ballpark. And the food options are so damn good.

They have two guys locked into next year’s rotation — Smith and Martin, and Martin should probably be one of the next players to be traded.  Cannon and Burke will likely be in the rotation as well even though they are still question marks.  It’s definitely a mess without much development.

Story today quotes the manager as saying there may have been a "communication problem" between the 3rd base coach and Vargas on the foul pop DP. Vargas to his credit took complete responsibility.

Just another day at the office for this dysfunctional team/organization that can't get out of their own way.

Its more fun to win but still I like going to the games. They do a good job with their entertainment at the ballpark. The food, parking and low ticket prices  are all great.
