What’s hilarious about this is you’re probably a little upset that I slapped you down pretty good yesterday after you made the claim that “There's a constant tone of negativity on this board and it's typically misguided/not rooted in anything factual.”

Yet today, when I stated how sad the discussion is around the future of the Sox based on factual information about the last decade plus of the franchise, all you can do is make a joke(??) about…someone suffering from depression?

Yikes

I genuinely couldn’t care less bro. 😎

I wasn’t even making fun

  • What an absolutely depressing thread. While I don't think any of these are incredibly far off from reality, it just speaks to the hole the White Sox are in under current management. Based on what ever

  • Lenyn Sosa traded for Jordan Walker is my big trade proposal (not that I support it)

  • I'd say: SP - S. Smith, Martin, Burke, the odd journeyman signing, and a hodgepodge of Gomez, Cannon, Shane Murphy, McDougal, Tyler Schweitzer, and Duncan Davitt until Mason Adams, Thorpe and Bus

You admittedly do not watch many WSox games throughout the season and have recently expressed ambivalence as to the possibility that the Sox move the franchise to Nashville stating further that it would not impact you or some such thing.

For some fans, like myself, all of sarcasm and negativity is tiresome to read. Speaking for myself only, I would like to see a better balance. Instead, we have a few  posters who dominate the conversations , and you know who they are.

And no need to slap anyone down.  As Moderator, you know you should be better than that.

162-324 “balanced” enough for you? Because it isn’t for me.

Then stop whining about the “negativity” of the message board. If you couldn’t care less, then stop caring.

I'm not a fan of them trading Quero unless they can get a top 100 type guy for him, which probably isn't happening in this prospect hugging climate.

Lot of push to trade Quero here, and I understand why to an extent. But he's got a very good approach and handle of the strike zone. Hes gonna be an all star at some point and for a franchise who has trouble developing bats, don't trade one of your actual developing bats. I expect we'll see more power from him too.

it has been mentioned that the Sox will not carry 3 catchers next year, nothing is written in stone but that is the buzz. Having Teel with Lee as back up makes Quero an interesting trade piece.  Getz can test the market and see what type of return he could get on flipping Quero. If he keeps both Teel and Quero platooning for another season I am fine with that also.

I feel like Quero is likely to get moved but not this offseason.  I think he will be on the team next year at the very least, possibly a few years

Bro

I don't think I'm whining, I merely suggested you might benefit from a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor. Many do. I hear it doesn't do great things for one's erection. "Woe is Sox fans" is such a boring groupthink.

Also, check it out, people call each other 'bro'. Why is that its own paragraph bro. It's not like I called you bruh.

Sort of pointless to make lineup predictions as I’m sure there will be some changes especially in the outfield corners, we really need power as the corners and DH.

Simple.  Don’t read it then.  After three straight 100+ loss seasons with one of them being record setting, what else would you expect?

I don’t see the OF changing much.  Your starters are already here.

Benintendi — Robert — Tauchman

And the word has been that they aren’t spending much money this offseason.  My guess is they acquire another righty corner OF like Slater quality to platoon with Tauchman.

Then they will be hard pressed to win 70 games. Beni should be the DH against RHP and Tauchman who I like is a 4th outfielder, somehow someway we need upgrades in OF corners.

Agreed.  I updated my previous post but I think they just grab another righty corner OF to platoon with them.  But he will probably be Slater level.  I just don’t see the Sox spending on a corner OF when B. Montgomery is up and coming.

I’ll expand but I want the team to sign Ryan O’Hearn to man 1B and DH, Zac Gallen to fortify the top of the rotation, Erick Fedde to eat some quality innings, and two proven veteran relievers. And acquire a RHH OFer for depth.

I don’t think the team should be spending like a team that’s trying to win the World Series just yet, I think the young player this season showed that they’re worth investing in. With the right moves, it’s not ridiculous to think that they can win another 15+ games, especially when you consider all the games they lost in 2025 due to having a bad bullpen.

Spending $50-60 million in FA alone for next year...???

They'll be fortunate to be at that overall payroll number for a full roster after Robert and/or Benintendi are traded.

Granted, the Royals were rich enough to spend significantly more after a 56-106 record two off seasons ago.

But they also already had Witt Jr.,Perez, Pasquantino, Singer and Ragans as a core.

Post-hype prospect: Would you be into the Sox doing a buy low on Heston Kjerstad? He was BRUTAL this year in mlb and AAA. Fuller knows him. If he approves, I could see it. Likely out of options does not control the zone enough and is not a great defender. Wouldn’t give up hardly anything for him, but may be worth a flyer.

Good thinking.  Problem is he has already aged out.  Dude will be 27 before next season starts.

They have nothing on the books salary wise. As of right now, they have $37M on the books and it’s just Benintendi and Robert. I don’t think O’Hearn and Fedde will cost that much.

O'Hearn is coming off an All Star selection.

He will get between $9-13 million probably...

Definitely one grouping ahead of the Slaters Tauchmans and Josh Rojases of the FA world.
