Yeah, and there are plenty more roster spots where those came from.

Any of those guys eligible to elect free agency instead?

They wouldn't have been outrighted if they wanted to become free agents, and at this time of year, I can't imagine them not taking a shot in free agency.

Whew.

A bit worried for a while that they might have to expose Curtis Mead, Derek Hill or Ben Cowles.

Derek Hill, Tim Elko, Ben Cowles and Bryan Hudson survive the purge.

Did you just mix and match first and last names of former A’s players, or are those actual members of the White Sox?

No reason to expose Elko, especially with as much filler as is on this 40 man.    But then again, maybe so, because I think they need to do a lot more culling.

I would say that Palette, 4-rounds Kelly, Dalquist, busts as starters, but not terrible as relievers should be protected over these guys.   And then make a number of rule 5 picks.....the guys they ae kicking off the 40 man are org guys at this point, so they could get fortunate like last year.

I think Payton Pallette and maybe they're trying to get a longer look at Jarold Rosado? Other than that, they got more guys to protect on the starter side. Mason Adams, Tyler Schweitzer, Tanner McDougal, Conner McCullough, Shane Murphy, Aldrin Batista.

First Canario...now Robertson.

Just like everyone in the original post, even more roster detritus from our GM.

I'm surprised Robertson has any value to another MLB team. There wasn't a single thing he did that I was impressed with in his short sampling this year.

Look at the team that claimed him — one of the few organizations as dirt cheap and awful as our Sox.

McDougal the only one from that list that stands out...two guys recovering from major injuries.

Maybe for you. Mason Adams is coming back from TJS. Batista is going to pitch in winter ball.

For real. While the rest of the league plays checkers the Pirates are ... chewing frayed lamp cords?

19 HRs in AA or AAA in each of the last 3 seasons. He's an interesting lefty bat who hasn't clicked. There's always that catch.

That’s a lot of junk off the 40.

And still a lot of flotsam and jetsam remaining.

Isn't he the one who made a great catch in LF to save a game?

Derek Hill survived nothing. He’s arb eligible and to cut him they would non-tender, not try to pass him through waivers.

He did make a phenomenal catch in leftfield that prevented a home run but otherwise he was horrible with the bat.
