Santos, Houser and Robert trades are all fine imo. Fedde/Kopech wasn't great, Cease was bad.

  • The National Equirer is more accurate than that guy.

You are a White Sox fan, so it is probably more like a -1 WAR 37 year old 2B who will play 1B poorly.

Pretty much what Getz said in that Kaplan interview. There's enough starting pitchers on the market for all those teams too.

Interesting - this would seem like an easy pickup. Former top 100 prospect, LHH RF, 23 years old, still has an option left. It's that old "lack of plate discipline" bug.

FanGraphs had him as Colorado's #5 prospect last year:

Looks like he was the #3 prospect in the Rockies farm system in 2024 and #6 in 2025.  Would be an obvious claim if he could play CF but it looks like he’s a RF.  Swingitis and perhaps lack of contact is his issue but his minor league numbers still look pretty good and he has youth on his side.  He just turned 23 — New Year’s baby.  I propose we make him this year’s Canario and talk about him until Getz finally claims him…  or doesn’t, and he goes to play in Japan.

His K numbers in the minors don't really look that bad.

Yeah, I just noticed that.  Right around 20% strikeout percentage in the minors.  Canario was at 26%.  Yanquiel just doesn’t walk at all.

Does anyone know when this was recorded? Getz mentions a significant reliever at around the 23 second mark. I’m assuming that’s in reference to Domínguez but not sure.

Yeah it was like a day or two before

Should we be concerned that Getz said Acuna is a switch hitter?

Haha, he actually said this at the 19 minute mark.  Perhaps he was mixing him up with Brooks Baldwin?  They look alike right?

My guess at the rest of the offseason list:

  • Sign mid-rotation SP
  • Add cheap veteran OF
  • Trade Lee for whatever possible
  • Trade Sosa if a return is there

There's something weird going on with the free agent starter market and it's certainly not just the White Sox with hestitation.

Probably because its alot of money for what's left

Everyone waiting for Framber to decide.  Then Gallen goes and the rest.

Indeed. I'm interested to see what Framber's deal even amounts to.

Not that I wanted him back but I wonder what his salary is if he makes the team.

4 years, 145 million is where I'm guessing. He probably wants a 5th year, but at 32 seems like a big investment!

Overall right or wrong too there's alot of smoke lately about him personally.

He's a dick, unlike Roger Clemens who was a notoriously good guy and teammate.

Being a free agent kind of sucks when guys start leaking these things that dont really matter.

Didn’t see this posted anywhere:

Now plot this against chase rate and you will find few players with both elite pitch recognition and elite contact ability to the extent of Meidroth.
