Does he deserve the cute nickname?

well we don't have Yoendrys anymore, someone has to have it. maybe Bryan Ramos because he keeps 'YoYoing' between AAA and MLB.

At no point do I ever want Matt Shaw on my team because I will always actively root against him.

There really are some anonymous shitbags on this website. Just a completely derailed thread full of utter nonsense.

I wonder where this puts guys like Giolito.

MLB needs to do something to get their offseason going, some sort of incentive to signing free agents in the 1st week of FA, with lesser incentives as every week goes by and install a deadline for the players to sign by. I remember tuning into the winter meetings being so excited but has just been a big letdown for awhile now. MLB needs to do something to get the fans tuned in for the offseason.

That would likely require a battle in the CBA, and the players would probably not allow it.

Yeah no way players union would allow that.

Might be worth a waiver claim…

“Astros designated RHP Kaleb Ort for assignment.”

Now what?

A starter of some sort.  Whoever is decent and cheap.

The Oort cloud, sometimes called the Öpik–Oort cloud, is theorized to be a cloud of billions of icy planetesimals surrounding the Sun at distances ranging from 2,000 to 200,000 AU. Its existence was proposed in 1950 by the Dutch astronomer Jan Oort, in whose honor the idea was later named.

I’m not saying they would but damn does the MLB do a good job of losing fan interest in the offseason

So then what would be your proposal for the rest of the offseason, exactly?

Idk some sort of negotiating/signing window every couple weeks with a break in between. Incentives for both players/teams for getting a signing done earlier. I don’t have a good answer for it but something to make the off-season a little bit more exciting to keep that excitement going into ST. I’m all for the players and team officials enjoying the time away from the game, the mental aspect of a long season doesn’t get talked about enough, but make the holidays a down time then so fans know what to expect because everyone knows what fans want is what matters most 🤣

Curious to see how much money he got compared to Murakami.

I think Okamoto will be a better hitter immediately but he's already 30 so his upside won't be that high. This might be the only real contract he gets in the Majors.

He also doesn't hit the ball particularly hard. It'll be interesting to see how his bat (and power) translates while also trying to play secondary positions. I originally was more on him than Mune, but I honestly think his career will end up being closer to Yoshida's.

I would have liked Murakami on a similar contract but I can see why he didn’t sign such a deal.

A little late to unite Noel and Holliday, but alas

Cubs gonna sign a big bat also now

Yeah kinda figure that. They gotta add an OF to keep Suzuki at DH right?

Would make sense with Cassie on the way out.  Maybe they bring back Bellinger?

In reference to Luzardo, believe that was last year for those who are confused reading that (myself included at first).
