White Sox win draft lottery, will pick #1 in 2026

Featured Replies

The sox keep picking short stops who aren't prototypical athletes. Bonemer isn't gonna be playing CF anytime soon, neither is Colson, or if they pick him Roch. TA also would fall into that category. Colson played basketball, so he's clearly athletic, but is he athletic enough to play the OF?

I don't know if Carlson could play the OF, i've never seen anyone say he's moved off SS but given how good he is there I doubt anyone would even consider it

This reads like the kind of careful answer you give when you need to pretend he's not already your guy

  • Thinking that Roch Cholowsky is maxed out is fucking insane considering what the Sox have done with some hitters of late.

Everyone remembers we had peak TA when we drafted Colson, right?

We needed someone to do ads for Ankin Law if TA faltered.

One of Bonomer or Carlson is getting traded for a starter at the deadline for sure. So you take Roch.

I doubt either are moved.

They have to trade someone, right? With 2027 looking in doubt, i think Getz makes one move for a pitcher.

A) I don’t think the owners are dumb enough to blow up the 2027 season B) Sox are in excellent position coming out of a lock out. They would not want to mortgage the future for 2026. I see them trading quantity not quality.

Uh, no. They don’t. Willl they? Perhaps. Not a top prospect however.

And someone explain why 2027 means lets make a bad deal in 2026?

Breaking news!

Getz should be fired immediately if he trades Carlson at his absolute lowest value. I could see Bonemer being moved as he's had a stellar start to his pro career but he has some serious holes in his game, with the bat and with the glove

Reminds me a lot of 1993.

Never, NEVER underestimate the stupidity of the owners.

With Jerry right at the top of that list.

You are much smarter that Reinsdorf, right? Uh no you're not.

When you have no facts, this is what you need to resort to.

Jerry was main hardliners in the 1994 loss of the season. He's done it before, which is the best indicator on if he would do it again.

Facts? The Sox won the World Series in 2005. Six NBA World Championships.

The Cubs have only one one World series over the last 100 years or so.

Inconvenient truth for Sox trolls or those with Reinsdorf derangement syndrome.

Won in spite of him in 05, lucked into MJ for the 6 Bulls.

We don’t need to be smarter. Jerry is deranged and misguided.

Yes. Jerry Reinsdorf was one of the primary reasons MLB lost the 1994 season. You being Jerry's biggest fan doesn't change that. Honestly the true derangement is the people who think he cares about Sox fans despite his 45 years of public statements otherwise.

MJ wasn't even brought in under JR.

Bonemer hit 18 home runs in 61 games in A+. His strikeout rate wasn't even that egregious given his age. The guy is going to be an absolute stud. They're still playing him at SS pretty regularly. He probably ends up at 2B, 3B or the corner OF. The guy has 40 HR power.

25-35 is probably a lot more realistic.

Gonzalez and Braden haven't come close to matching their milb power numbers in the early going...despite all the optimistic surrounding their debuts.

I cringe a little when guys get called up and have a great game 1 or 2. The list of busts that do this is very long. Almost prefer the Robin Ventura path😆

You’re not always an asshat and we can agree from time to time. 😆
