Jerry is the worst owner in the MLB.  A monkey throwing a dart could make better decisions than him when it comes to running a successful winning team.

Arte Moreno had 2 HOFers on his team and couldn't win. He had players ODing on drugs supplied by personnel in the front office. JR is bad. He's not "the worst".

This guy is our closer. So he should be included as part of the Robert trade. Sox used the money to sign this guy. OK with the Acuna acquisition and adding two pitchers, Sox should be creeping close to .500 this season and mabe contend in this weak division. I wonder if they could land a starting pitcher even though starters only go five innings. ... The Sox have made some moves. The question is is our team a .500 club yet??

Not unless the offense gets a whole lot better to pick up a pretty weak starting staff.

These lines have nothing (or little) to do with where anybody thinks the Sox will wind up, but it's a magical spot that will inspire equal betting on both sides of the line to cancel each other out. The house makes money off the vig.

Im shocked that this is your opinion. Go to Pittsburgh and Colorado and others they'll say the same thing about their owners. How about Oakland where the owner moved the team without having another home. You dont have the exclusive hate for the owner of your team.

That makes the equilibrium at the point where the middle of all bets would be, so literally half of the people think the Sox will win that many games,  or more, and the other half less.  It's the literal crowdsourcing of where people think the Sox will be next year.

Yeah, that's the wisdom of crowds. Betting lines are set, though, and then move based on betting. Last year's ridiculous line of 49.5 wins for the White Sox eventually moved. I wouldn't rely on a prostitute sizing me up on the North Ave. bridge to assess my own value as a man.

You shouldn’t be shocked.  I could pull up posts in which you were still defending Rick Hahn until the bitter end, after numerous failures.  Now, Getz is your savior.  And here you are, still defending fucking Jerry Reinsdorf.  Quite frankly, your takes are biased and awful.  But good luck to you.

Imagine wasting keystrokes defending the worst owner in sports, yet here you are…

Hopefully, you are still on Jerry’s payroll.

I posted the sportsbook lines to actually prove your point against RayRay no one has them over 100 losses at the moment

Oo. Nice attack. Get cornered and go for the person. What dies any of that have to do with many fans hating their owners

I didn't stick with Hahn to the end. I believe I said multiple times that he deserved to be fire because his plan didn't work. I said at the beginning he gets about 4-5 years and if it doesn't work he should be gone. But enjoy the vengeful research.

You gave him enough rope to hang a thousand men.

As you move the goalposts just note that it might not be where you think we will be, but that is pretty much the definition of where the masses think we will be, which was the original point.  The masses think we will be at 96 to 98 losses next year.

I see the offense as good with Colson leading the way and the guy from Japan to go with our two catchers. Beni is acceptable and this guy we just got in the trade hit four home runs in one game recently. Also Meidroth.

And I take them both ways. Even the most cynical don't expect the White Sox to lose 100 this season, and they're betting lines, which have their own motivations. They probably skew extreme to draw in the early bettors. Thanks.

And the masses are stupid. I'm fairly certain we're both as unhappy with the "state of the nation" as it stands today.

I can't count the number of people online who "thought" the Sox would rebreak the loss record in 2025. I sure hope they didn't bet that. Voting is free, though.

You understand the analogy, you just don’t want to address the issue of giving credit to something that should be expected to have been done 15 years ago, and because Getz is simply keeping up with the rest of the competition, the White Sox deserve heaps of praise.

But keep deflecting

The White Sox deserve zero praise.  We were arguably the most embarrassing org in the major four sports over the last half decade.  And Chris Getz never deserved the GM job in the first place based on qualifications.  That being said, if you think for a second modernizing a professional sports org that is broken to its core is as easy as “saying no to drugs” then you have lost all touches to reality.
