From the Sun-Times story tonight:

"Being humiliated by the rival Packers is a red flag that his predecessors haven’t had to confront in years. Matt Eberflus never lost by as many as 24 points at Lambeau Field. Neither did Matt Nagy or John Fox. The last time the Bears were so outclassed in Green Bay was a 55-14 loss in 2014 that set Marc Trestman down the road to unemployment. No one is suggesting Johnson is on that path. He won the NFC North last year and deserves credit for leading the Bears to consecutive victories with two different backups under center.

The worst part is who it was against — and how that affects the Bears’ postseason chances. The Bears went 2-4 in the North last season and still somehow found a way to win it. That won’t happen again.

The Bears are 3-2, yet last in the NFC North, the result of losing both their divisional games this season. The Vikings, who many thought were the worst team in the North, are 5-0 this season. The Packers are Lions are each 3-2. The former knew what was at stake, beyond just rivalry bragging rights, on Sunday. The easiest path to the playoffs is to beat up on your division. Since Johnson took over, though, the Vikings lead the NFC North with a 6-2 record. The Packers are 5-3 and the Lions 2-4. The Bears are 2-6.

Johnson has won 25% of his regular-season divisional games, the same as Trestman. He could win his next five NFC North contests and still have a worse divisional winning percentage than Nagy did the day he was fired."

Ben Johnson's loss was disconcerting for reasons that go...

Sunday’s blowout at the hands of his rival came with the Bears favored to win at Lambeau Field for the first time in 20 years. Expectations were different. The disappointment was greater.

Ben being bad against divisional opponents is very odd. It could just be that the other coaches know his tendencies better, but you'd think in this day and age, any team can watch film and pick these things up.

I don't really blame him too much for the 2 losses this year. One of them was in a monsoon and Caleb got hurt while he was running for the go-ahead TD. The other is Tyson Bagent being terrible. They probably make it a closer game with Keenum, but the QB didn't allow 3 deep balls over the top for TDs.

What’s especially shitty about this loss is that you’d expect some kind of a memorable game after Ditka passed. And they just went out there and embarrassed themselves.

The meatball in me is upset that all of the Chicago teams suddenly suck again.

I bet many of these current Bears players don’t even know who Ditka is.

Eh... if it was Dick Butkus I would agree with you. But Ditka was more of a global figure. I bet they probably didn't know he played (and revolutionized) TE, but I'd bet the house they all know him as a coach. That '85 Bears team is talked about way too much in nauseum to not know who he is.

MAYBE when they got here, but I promise you they quickly learned.

I have no clue how we are winning these games....lol

As Tom Brady said... this is a different offense with Caleb Williams.

The “red area” thing is driving me nuts. I know he’s been saying it for years, but I usually have games muted.

Game back on...

Ben’s going to get destroyed by the media if the blow this

What a choke job.

Bears D needs to step up here, you'd think 31 points would be a comfy win

Who was it who said Kyler Gordon doesn't matter?

Nice to see the Bears get the win with New England and Seattle coming up...but man do they like to make things difficult for themselves.

The defense isn't good, but serviceable. The back end is just bad.

I thought the D had a nice game considering all the injuries. Was legit expecting Bijan to have 200+ total yards today.

Incredibly arrogant to pull your starters with 10 minutes left in a 3 score game. Maybe do it with 5 minutes left or something.

He was doing it because of a short week. The Bears play on Thursday too. Do I agree with it? Not really, but I understand the logic.

I understand that, but if they let the starters play one more drive, none of what actually transpired happens. Letting Atlanta finally breathe and get some momentum ended up making the starters play 2 more drives that actually required them to try.

Fantastic win - penalties have to get under control and Caleb took a few early sacks in first half where he has to get the ball out of his hands but overall that was such a clean game by Caleb and the D.

They made it to worrisome in the end - the penalties and Roschons fumble were no bueno. Kyler played electric!

Was great seeing the ball spread around so much and seeing Loveland early and often in this one.

Reality is Roschon had a nice run and they were moving it he just coughed it up. Jones had opened up a big hole along with Newman on the play where Roschon fumbled.

Why do the Cowboys get so many nationally televised games? They suck
