Yep, so insane. The more likely reason is they’re prepping him for Roch. This is an organization that drafted a SS that struggles to hit in the first round because up the middle depth means so much, and now Colson isn’t even playing there.

I'll criticize this organization for pretty much anything but mixing Colson in at 3B is fine.

If he doesn't outgrow SS one of Carlson or Cholowsky will push him off the position in the future anyway.

That's kind of where I am. Dude has been decent at SS. Until someone comes along to beat him out, and has a bat enough to do it, let him cook. Be different if we had drafted Roch and he was knocking on the door, but that is at least a year away still.

So Peters is Venable’s starting CF against righties? Moving Colson off of SS to play Acuna there?

A weak roster provided by a weak GM with Venable making lineup decisions like Grifol.

Apparently not much has changed.

Carlson is 19 years old. He’s not pushing anyone right now. For all we know, he could be moved to CF at some point if Acuna is a bust.

I get the Cholowsky argument to some extent but he still needs to be drafted and get some MILB at bats first.

I don't think there is any downside to maximizing Colson's (or basically any other players) positional versatility.

Max, Carlson has to be 4 years away from MLB if he stays with Sox.

That was my guess. Oh the irony of ditching Benetti for Schriffen due to his other work obligations when our other announcer won’t even travel to Florida for the second series of the season.

Do we know why Chase is sitting? 3 games in a row too tough for him? Did he tweak something yesterday?
