Sounds pretty scary thoughYou don’t get a TV when you have kids, unless you put two in one room and mute yours. 🤣

Speculation drifted out past 2030 because Getz was nowhere near as smart as the keyboard koaches who could spell-check "incompetence" and "accountability".The point you seem to be trying to dunk on was that Hahn/KW made many mistakes in the last rebuild. They drafted 1-dimensional projects with top picks. They neglected investment in overall development at all levels. They traded all their stars, and most of the trades were garbage. You remind us regularly that JR didn't spend in free agency for that rebuild, either. Yet, they made back-2-back playoff appearances in 4 years with the bare minimum of competence. This time, they started in a deeper hole, and this team got relevant faster.Chris Getz created a very good team for you to jump on the bandwagon. Don't worry, there's room for all of you glum chums to declare that you were right all along and were telling everyone about Dave Wilder before that was a thing. LOL.Can someone explain how this "rebuild" has been more successful than the prior one? Seems like revisionist history to me. Let's wait to see how things play out before annointing kings.

But there does seem like there is more talent coming up from the minors than last time, with more to come. The last rebuild everyone got here and there was no one else coming. There were certainly more people (madrigal, vaughn and crochet for example) that came up in waves, they just sucked. So far our call ups have been succeeding and it's great to see.I think the pitching is incredibly thin, and poses a large risk if Schultz can't get it sorted and stay healthy. Good news is they should have money to supplement, but it's not like i'm more excited about this team than I was about the 2020 team. I'm not rewriting history.I cant emphasize this enough. This team is a lot of fun for two reasons...They're doing cool stuff! Great comebacks, love being an underdog. There were no expectations and we're coming off two years where the team was literally unwatchable. The bar was lowered and we all want to be entertained.I Said it before, but if the 2021 had this record after 65ish games, people wouldnt be as thrilled. 14 hours ago14 hr You can find what I said easily enough about challenging Ray Ray about Braden not being good "right away". That's very recent. You can also find the predicted HR in that game thread in the archives. Again not 100% accurate since i said Gonzo would hit one also. Very bold and got it half right.Everything else you know its true especially the Robert stuff since it involved you. I talked about Murakami in a thread about if you could add one Free Agent who would it be. Yes I picked Murakami. Did I think the Sox had a chance to get him ? Hell no ,by all reports he was going to cost a lot more. But once he got here I always posted my belief in him . Was just a feeling ,nothing more, being a genuine Superstar in Japan which has produced some special talents to enter MLB. Even the experts focused on what was and not what could be. Special players find a way to evolve.@caulfield12 probably remembers when I said there could be a big increase in HR's because I said not only did dig chicks dig the long ball so did everyone else. I said between Murakami and Colson they could 75-80 HRs and that was idk back in April maybe earlier. Now that might not happen because of injuries but they were on that pace and the Sox are still 2nd in HR's. I could go way back about trading Dane Dunning for Lynn. @hi8is will tell you.@WestEddy probably remembers some stuff but you might consider him biased since we regularly agreed on how we perceived the Getz rebuild.I could go back even farther and I practically nailed Abreu stats his rookie year in that prediction thread.I don't claim to be never wrong . Hell I thought Oscar Colas would be good. But I'm generally bullish on prospects.I'm not scientific about it . A lot of it is based on positive vibes I get along with just reading situations and events as they unfold. Just observation techniques along with long exposure to White Sox baseball. Like being able to predict short dialogue responses in movies. It's not that hard if you truly are paying attention without biases. But sure maybe my own biases play into it because I focus on the good not the bad. That's why I love the Pope and the Magic Wand stuff. Others want to focus on the negative aspects of those things as if they are looking for them. It took others a little longer to see things my way and that's OK but I don't see any true enoyment from you as if youre waiting for it to come crashing down.I actually feel the same way you do about Murakami . He will be difficult to extend. I just don't focus on it as a sign of impending disaster. I'll keep watching how that progresses as well as the rookies who have made such a wonderful immediate impact.

It's weird that you know so much about how to build a baseball team yet nobody's reached out to you to fill a GM slot. Maybe you just stink as an interviewee. It's silly and short-sighted to proclaim a GM a failure when he takes over a smoldering crater and loses a lot. Every rebuild starts with losing. 13 hours ago13 hr Now 6th in fWAR at 10.3 for position players with a 107 wRC+, also good for 6th in MLB. Pitching 17th in fWAR but 21st in FIP. I don't really use xFIP anymore but if you prefer it 25th in xFIP.So good to borderline great offense and mediocre to borderline bad pitching. All adds up to 1st place so far. I get youre obsessed with deferring to perceived authority, but i actually think for myself and don't need to have a job title to have an educated opinion. You perceive it as me thinking im smarter than everyone when I give my opinion, yet when you do it it's reasonable. Make it make sense. You ever notice how I dont critique you for thinking youre smarter than everyone everytime you express a thought?
