Your 2026 Chicago White Sox.....We no longer suck!!! And for now, that is enough to stay in the Central race way deeper into the season than I thought. They have been way more watchable since Colson

I'm in the camp of enjoying this team because they are so much better than the teams of the past few years. I recognize they are still not a great team, but they are getting close to not bad. This t

When they signed Mune I thought theyโ€™d be a 500 team or better and would be in the wild card hunt. Not enough games played yet to know if I was right but boy is this team fun!

As far as I can tell just about every coach/manager that just got done pounding another team has said something like "that's a damn fine team over there." (Except in the case of like a hated rival or something.) Did he correctly predict that we'd "give110%" and "play the right way" too? ๐Ÿ˜„ That just standard sports platitudes.

(And any snide skepticism is directed at Garfien, btw, not the Soxtalk poster.)

As proven by real math!

Dropped $100 on them to win the division a few weeks ago when it was +2000. Think I mostly did it because I was offended that they had Minnesota +900 but I'm starting to believe it's possible

I think the mariners series has convinced me. These are the kind of games that playoff teams win. These are the other 42 games that are turgid slogs that division winners find a way to win.

The Sox mostly looked flat this series, they stole one and were a mistake or two from taking this one.

Oh Bullshit.

In hindsight playing the Brewers to kick off the season might have been to their benefit. They got a front row seat to the style of play they want to replicate.

I think it's a critical series this weekend. Giants are a team we are clearly better than, we'll have both Davis and Noah going and the pen should be rested -- we gotta take 2/3 if we want to keep above .500 as the schedule toughens in June.

Good teams do that. It speaks to their mentality. Meanwhile a big part of why a team like the cubs will lose the division again to the brewers is the lack of mentality. They are about to be swept and they were completely outclassed. They just laid down. We didn't lay down, even when we were down 5-2 today.

I'm so confused by your posts. I thought I missed something and the Sox won the series... but triple checked and I'm not crazy.

That we won and didn't play well? Why is that hard to comprehend? Arsenal just won a premier league grinding out wins. Yesterday's win does more to convince me than the cubs series. Good teams find ways to win games they shouldn't when they aren't playing especially well.

The White Sox went 4-2 against the Padres and the Cubs. Two teams who are suppose to be two of the better teams in the NL. In a few weeks the White Sox play 9 games in a row against the Braves, Dodgers and Yankees. It should be an interesting 9 games.

One way or another - all doubt will be relieved then.

Panicans would rather their preseason predictions be correct than the White Sox winning their division!

He does truly contribute with his own brand of comedy. Caulfield still seems to think heโ€™s being sincere all the time.

I don't think the 2026 team is built to make a deep run in the playoffs, if they even get there. But it's an important building year where the team is learning that they can compete, and how to win. I don't get the guys who think you can't talk positive about a team unless they put up a W today.

It's actually the Phillies, Braves, Dodgers and Yankees. Philly has been red hot since Mattingly took over.

Only when he's talking about his two real passions, politics and the Cubs.

Sometimes playing Devil's Advocate or calling for every young Sox prospect to be brought up immediately at least can lead to somewhat interesting discussions...

I'm looking at the schedule in June and it's absolutely brutal. We play 4 contenders in a row. Phillies, Braves, Dodgers, and Yankees. If we make it out of that still in contention, then we should definitely be buying at the deadline.

Yea, I looked at the calendar when the other poster mentioned the Braves / dodgers / yankmes run and included the Phillies as the start in my own thinking too.

Itโ€™s clear that this team has already proved they are vastly different, heading in the right direction, and are respectable across the league.

Weโ€™ll know definitively after that June run if we are seriously in the hunt for a playoff run or not once the Yankme series is over.
