Just don’t trade a prospect like Fajardo for him to get back Cam freaking Booser and get absolutely owned in the trade. Edited May 9May 9 by WhiteSox2023
May 9May 9 Thomas does have 1 more MiLB option left, so he wouldn't be required to stick on the active roster.
May 9May 9 It seems to me that Thomas may have had a higher opinion of his value than the D-backs did. Apparently, they wanted to show him by putting him on waivers. I'm guessing they're just done with him.

May 9May 9 "He’s been here for a long time,” general manager Mike Hazen said on Friday. “He has no prior outright. So if we end up outrighting him, if we don’t trade or clear his waivers, then I feel like we’ll get a better version of him when he is down there. I feel like if we just optioned him, feeling like he’s buried sitting down there biding his time until he gets another opportunity, I wasn’t sure that we were going to get the best version.“This is the opportunity we’ll have to get the best version of him if he’s still here. Obviously, we will see what kind of trade activity exists out there for him.”AZ snake pityes I realize story above could have same quotes but Twitter is evil as well as blocked in China lol
May 10May 10 IMHO, Tristan Peters has earned the starting CF spot and he deserves it. He isn't Byron Buxton or some superstar, but he fits in with this roster and their style of play. Peters has shown excellent range in the outfield. He has plus speed and makes good breaks on balls hit to the gaps. I enjoy seeing his well placed bunts and it seems like he has an uncanny ability to hit off-speed pitches. That and he has proven to be a clutch player. It seems like Venable, who played CF, can see what we are seeing. That is why Acuna is on the bench waiting to be DFAed.

The corner spots are the black holes.

Helps out at the top of the order. If Pereira could stay on the field, we’d get a better read on him. Braden will be up in a month or so to add yet another guy with a decent eye and power but a lot of in zone swing and miss to this team. The fact that they are scoring decently with 4.5 average to above average hitters is a good sign. Get Teel back and get a little more production from of/DH and this team could take off.

Local product and ties to organization tooI don’t know whether Thomas is the answer, but the Sox need to improve on the current outfield. Mediocre defense and power numbers. Our infield defense is pretty good but not the outfield.

They probably have a dozen 17 year old latin or asian guys of similar stock.

Forget the major league depth that the team has already accrued (hard as that may be to do with a group led by Kyle Tucker, Teoscar Hernández, and Andy Pages). The organizational depth chart is a who's who of top prospects: Josue De Paula, Zyhir Hope, Eduardo Quintero, Mike Sirota, Kendall George, Ryan Ward, and so many more."Now there's James Tibbs as well...SF to Boston to LA, high draft pick. Sox OF will sort itself out at some point (although a CF may be problematic). If Martin goes, it's got to be for elite young pitching.

Perhaps if one of the two relievers is Grant Taylor.I also doubt you are going to get “elite” young pitching for Davis Martin. Would you trade Noah Shultz for Martin?

Would you trade Mathias LaCombe, or maybe Yoikher Fajardo? How about a mixed up looking Christian Oppor? I have no dog in the fight, but I think every trade period is different. A couple teams hold onto the guys everybody was banking on being available, so then the next tier becomes a bit more valuable. That being said, I really think they should hold onto Martin. Even with as much pitching we have in the pipeline, a bird in the hand....
