From the get-go, part of Colson's game has been that his mis-hits are somewhat frequently that perfect combo of low exit velo and launch angle to fall in for a hit.

  • I'm a lifelong Cardinal fan, but now I've modified that to say, "The Cards are my National League team, and the Sox are my American League team." This certainly is a fun team to watch, and it seem

  • Yea bro let's get mad at our checks notes 22 year old pitcher making his 6th MLB start and checks notes 23 year old infielder learning a brand new position.

What gives you so much optimism he will learn to lift for power? Would be an awesome surprise, but it seems like a long shot to me

He got to more lift in AAA once he got comfortable at the level (although small sample). He's ticked up the EV (especially max which is what matters here) to the pull side already, which was something we didn't see from J ram until he was in the big leagues for multiple years. So he's already made 75% of the transition. Lift is easier than EV gains.

Is it a guarantee? Wouldn't say that, but then I think he hits 40 doubles a year.

Agreed, it’s also why I’m hard on him about his approach late in games

SUCK IT KEELENIC HATERS! QUEUE UP BOSTON!

Bunting to give Benintendi a 2 out rbi chance is certainly a choice, at least he drew a walk and nothing bad happened

Now. Jared!

Kelenic always ends up doing some dumb s%*# when he does something good.

Great swing!! Love him

Nice hit by Kelenic! but bad baserunning getting the 3rd out at 3rd

Finally gets one to drop even if he had to put a dumb little cherry on top

Wow Kelenic!

Damn if he didn't hold up at 2nd hes easily safe at 3rd. OH WELL

Nothing with Jose profile says roids in my opinion. Nothing upticked, he just got in the cage and learned to turn and burn pitches on the inner half. Love that guys game.

Hahaha it blows my mind everytime he does something good he immediately screws up.

Nonetheless, great hit. I’m a Kelenic believer.

Not sure that was necessary at all, Kelenic. You weren't going to change the outcome at home. Thanks for the 2 RBI, but that out was dumb.

It’s by designed a lot of times to get the cut off to go after him instead of the guy going home

I think he was trying to bunt for a hit cause Garcia was playing back. It was just a terrible bunt for that.

Kelenic stopped and then restarted at second. lol wtf

Remember in the Ventura era when basically every base hit to score a run with two outs ended up with an out on the bases? And we'd try to tell ourselves they were just trying to ensure the run scored by getting hung out to dry

He also used to be a twig when he came up to the big leagues. It could be that he just got some major league diet and filled out his frame, but like fathom said, his head is gigantic.
