Romo was always scouted as a good defender, and both his throwing and framing are grading out fine, so I assume the issues with balls getting past him are probably not going to last. As far as decisionmaking with ABS challenges, that's a new thing for everyone but he's clearly not good at it yet.

We went from overly aggressive to not aggressive enough.

except to Naylor lol

Maybe if he had thrown it in the zone, Naylor would have hit it well enough to carry to an outfielder!

Yep, was about to say the scouting reports I read said he was actually a good defender.

Just go to full time ABS back there

but the umpires' union lol

lirr transit workers making $200k with double overtime pay, almost as much as Gov.Hochul

Not sure why Romo did not challenge ball 2 and 3 on Rodriguez .

They were both strikes

woo looks pretty good so far

That's a HR in Savannah

They can still stand back there if they want. Someone has to call people safe or out at home.

blink and you missed that half inning

I've grown to accept that the goal of ABS isn't purely to make the calls perfect, but rather to add another skill that can differentiate the players and teams. I do wish there were one or two more challenges per team though so guys could let it rip more often.

f*** that p**** s%*# you're drinking a bud light

If I ever showed up to a buds place with light beer I’d be made fun of mercilessly.

With that tennis court technology for calling faults...probably not far from clearing that need as well, except for weirdness/AI dystopian feeling

Right now I think the righties are really locking in on the sinker/4-seam speed band. Noah will need to make them respect the offspeeds.

Schultz fastball seems like it's got a really low whiff rate no matter who he's facing

Am I the only one that thinks Romo looks like McCann back there?

I was waiting for that cutter the entire AB

Good call

I don't think his delivery is funky enough like Sale's or Crochet's to truly baffle hitters. His stuff seems similar to theirs, but he doesn't have the command those 2 had.

cutter sweeper slider needs a bit more differentiation

It’s all about the command

Then he's going to have to take more advantage of extension...or add a changeup

Nice inning Noah!

He's 30th percentile in extension. Someone's gotta work with him on that. I don't know how you're almost 7 feet and you have below average extension.

Romo does something weird with hands/arms before he throws it back to the pitcher. Hard for me to describe what's wrong with it. Reminds me kind of the stuff that guys with the yips do
