Schultz is throwing bullpens and should be close to a minimum IL stint. Shane Smith is throwing again too.

I’ve been anxiously waiting to see Drew Thorpe pitch this year. Have we gotten an update on him in a while? Since the appendectomy?

Colson and back tightness = no concern for me about Roch’s eventual fit with the team

Just like there is no such thing as too much pitching, there is no such thing as too many SS's.

Pereira back in the lineup for Charlotte. Playing CF no less, so I assume there was no setback.

He has started throwing again, that’s all we know. The only good news with him is that his setback was non-pitching related so he should be back at some point in the second half. But obviously that keeps getting pushed each day he’s not with an actual affiliate.

I’m super excited for him to be back!

7 innings in CF for Pereira. 2-3 with the HR, an IF single, and 1 BB/K

Shane Smith returning to his 2025 form at some point would really change the complexion of the rotation.

Wasn't sure where to place this but just FYI, Angels put Moncada on the 60 day IL Monday with a right knee issue.

Gives him time to write a new song and produce another music video!

2-0 pitch 93 center cut right at his point of extension from a lefty. Basically batting practice moment for the big guy. 💪🏼

WOULD BE YUGE!

Would be better than having to trade for a starter at the deadline for sure.

(Shane) Smith coming back and Hagen coming up potentially changes the entire complexion of this rotation.

Fully agree. Just hard to predict what you’ll get from either of them. Shane was so broken before his injury, so he’s still got a lot of work to do beyond just getting healthier. Smith has got to make sure his control doesn’t implode when he gets the call. But if they do work out, you’re taking massive upgrades over Fedde & Kay and one of those guys moves to the pen and hopefully serves as an upgrade over Richards.

This morning is getting better and better. I woke up to a Sox walk off win and now Shane is getting his grove back.

Tanner McDougal, if healthy, will be more immediately effective than both IMO

Injury updates

Catcher Kyle Teel’s recovery from a strained hamstring lingers on. Getz was hopeful the Sox could send him on a rehab assignment sooner rather than later.

“He feels really good,” Getz said. “They’re continuing to expose him to different on-field activities, whether it be on the defensive side, squatting, making cuts on the basepath. Obviously, the offensive side, as well. It’s trending in the right direction.”

Murakami continues his recovery from a strained hamstring. Getz said he expects the slugger’s return to remain in the window of four to six weeks.

The Sox moved outfielder Austin Hays to the 60-day injured list. Getz said the team is trying to pinpoint the problem behind Hays’ strained left calf.

Saw where he is going to have surgery on that knee next week.

I’ll start it off for him…

Stepping up to the plate, man, I used to clear the bases

Grand slams, home runs, looking at their faces

But the slide went wrong, and the steel cut deep

Now I’m staring at the ceiling while the city’s asleep

Un tajo en la rodilla por culpa de una espina

El cirujano dijo: "Papi, fuera de la línea"

La pierna congelada, vendada y en reposo

Pero el swing de este negro sigue siendo peligroso.

Chorus

Even with the knife in my knee, I’m the man

They still pulling up, yeah, they doing what they can

Aunque esté tumbado, el teléfono no para

Las babys me buscan, la movie no se aclara

The bitches still love me, locked up in the bed

They texting and they calling, filling up my head

Con la pierna rota, pero el swag intacto

Saben que el MVP nunca pierde su contrato.
