June 9Jun 9 Pereira back in the lineup for Charlotte. Playing CF no less, so I assume there was no setback.

The only good news with him is that his setback was non-pitching related so he should be back at some point in the second half. But obviously that keeps getting pushed each day he’s not with an actual affiliate.

Just hard to predict what you’ll get from either of them. Shane was so broken before his injury, so he’s still got a lot of work to do beyond just getting healthier. Smith has got to make sure his control doesn’t implode when he gets the call. But if they do work out, you’re taking massive upgrades over Fedde & Kay and one of those guys moves to the pen and hopefully serves as an upgrade over Richards.

June 10Jun 10 From the Sun-Times:Injury updatesCatcher Kyle Teel’s recovery from a strained hamstring lingers on. Getz was hopeful the Sox could send him on a rehab assignment sooner rather than later.“He feels really good,” Getz said. “They’re continuing to expose him to different on-field activities, whether it be on the defensive side, squatting, making cuts on the basepath. Obviously, the offensive side, as well. It’s trending in the right direction.”Murakami continues his recovery from a strained hamstring. Getz said he expects the slugger’s return to remain in the window of four to six weeks. The Sox moved outfielder Austin Hays to the 60-day injured list. Getz said the team is trying to pinpoint the problem behind Hays’ strained left calf.
