For Users Having Trouble Accessing Soxtalk

Featured Replies

After doing some extensive digging, I found some issues under the hood that may be tough for @Chisoxfn to reconcile with our fairly unresponsive hosting company. However, I did also find a few indications that users who are having problems may find some immediate relief by taking the following quick fix:

Instead of reaching the site via https://soxtalk.com or just typing soxtalk.com - try using https://www.soxtalk.com

There is a difference with the way things are configured where the domains without www included are not resolving completely.

If that helps anyone effected, please respond here while I continue to do some digging.

Thanks hi8is. Can somebody pass this along to @greg775 ? I know somebody can get in touch with him. His presence is missed.

Https://www.SoxTalk.com did NOT work on my macBookPro.

Tested with Verizon internet and no dice.

Everything still works with wifi.

When you’re at work next on their WiFi, use a private browser on your phone ( that will bypass cache ) and try expressly typing https://www.soxtalk.com ( being sure to include https:// ) and let me know if that produces anything different please.

Did you use an incognito window or clear your cache when trying on your Verizon connection?

Same for me. Doesn’t work on my iPhone using Verizon network data.

However, a $3 dollar app called DNS Override and forcing the DNS on my phone to 1.1.1.1 has worked for me.

An incognito window brings up the site but then it hangs again forever and never loads when trying to sign in.

I thought it was my WiFi. When I turn it off and use cellular, non problem.

And that’s when you’re being sure to try hitting https://www.soxtalk.com ?

There are multiple issues happening at once, some on the server side, another on the domain side, and it also looks like there may be a couple of other items that were missed during the last upgrade where there are conflicting paths relating to www

Yep, it won’t work at all on my phone on Verizon unless I force a 1.1.1.1 DNS Server.

My problem is the opposite, I can only use the site on wifi.

The fix in the op did not work for me.

I concur.

Greg bet his house one too many times on this site. He’s living in a motel and leaching off the public WiFi from the McDonald’s next door in Lawrence, Kansas.

Which is obviously one that doesn't currently work on Soxtalk after the "upgrade".

Thanks - I’ll dig into this aspect of it later. It may be possible I’m able to find a bandaid while Chisoxfn takes the other items I’ve sent him to the hosting company.

I know 😆 I’ve offered to re-theme the entire platform with various options that are tied to the various Sox branding changes over the years.

Have a 2026 theme, a 1917 theme, 1970s theme, 1980s theme, and a modern black and white theme.

I got a new phone and forgot my password. I have asked the software to send me a reset link but nothing is sent.

This exact thing happened to me, kind of. No reset link was sent. I ended up just making a new account. Hence this being my 2nd post lol.

Fire up the OG account and just change the name.
