I find it interesting that the Sox had Gonzalez playing more 2B last year than SS, I understand why of course, but that's good to know that they can move him probably across the whole IF

I really wish they would be testing guys out in the OF in the minors, positions where they are comfortable with depth

Platooning has been a huge plus for us this year. Not sure if Gonzalez is a platoon only guy or not long-term, but his quickest path to value is against RHP.

We have no payroll beyond the 2027 season, definitely feels like the move we should make. And if a payroll floor goes into place, even more reason to spend big on a legit star as it will be hard to spread a lot of money around.
