This team is amazingly fun to watch and damn exciting. I've been a fan since moving to the area in 1999, and this might be the most exciting team I've watched. Obviously the 2005 team was something else, but the youth of this team along with how likeable they are is great.

They beat one of the best teams in baseball with the bats one day and with pitching the next.

When Mune comes back, there's going to be A LOT of power in this lineup.

Yeah it feels different. Games it feels like they’re going to lose when they are losing early, they win. Not flat, dead in the water like what seems like the last 15+ years of Sox baseball from the mired in mediocrity years, to the rebuild, to the very small competence window that brought, and rebuild 2.0. It’s a fun season and breath of fresh air, even if the pitching doesn’t hold up. Exciting times.

45-22 6.5 games in first place on June 18th, 2005

Slight difference there.

Nobody mentioned a W-L record. Talking about the coverage.

Absolutely amazing, I don’t think I can remember a team that was made up with guys with not even a year as Major Leaguers and performing like All-Stars, Mune, Antonacci, Meidroth, both Montgomery’s, Gonzalez, Peters with our veteran Vargas leading the way while our other vets like Hill, Beni and Grichuk stepping up. As someone mentioned we are doing this without Teel and to a lesser extent Hays and Baldwin who I thought were going have pretty good years, especially Baldwin. The pitching was super last night , if we could somehow find a few more arms these guys could be unbeatable.

I keep forgetting about Baldwin. I think of this group going forward:

IF: Murakami, Meidroth, Colson, Vargas, Gonzo
OF: Ant-man, Peters, B. Monty, Baldwin, Pereira

Your Sunday and getaway lineups would be as strong as the regulars.

Speaking of W-L record, weird he stopped posting about their win pace after they started playing really well.

That roster works for me but I’d like to find room for Grichuk somewhere.

Really is a shame that he got injured and is getting buried. But maybe he can carve out a nice career as a 26th man/utility player spot playing both IF and OF.

All the listicles have dried up as the Sox move up their rankings, too. This morning, they find themselves on an 87-win pace. Caulfield and SS2k5 must have been using the same calculator that now mysteriously doesn't work.

Isn't Baldwin out for the year? Grichuk will be gone next year.

I think the poster means for next year.

And for the record, those are only 10 names plus 2 catchers not listed. There would technically be one more spot which I guess would be Benintendi.

You’ll know the team is back in the spotlight when you see playoff-related articles that forget about the 2005 team.

Were the Sox to get to the World Series, I'd fully expect ESPN to write about the White Sox possibly breaking the 100+ year old curse.
