Chomping at the bit here too, but just gotta make sure they're fully healed, I guess.

Dang, it'd be great to get a win this afternoon!

Well I was hoping they didn't get swept during any of the four killer series they have had or will have to play and they haven't.

As far as I'm concerned they are playing with house money today, let's see what they can do.

Man, this type of pessimism is a drag.

Once at home, I expected them to win every game of the Atlanta series. I thought we'd beat the Dodger Friday and fully expected them to win yesterday; and you know what, I absolutely expect them to win today, even more now with Hudson as a starter. Fedde has had two very good games in row. But pitching a righty against the Dodgers is tough . . . almost as tough as pitching a righty against the White Sox.

Let's go Sox and beat this $400 million dollar machine.

Going to be so fucking awesome when that happens.

People freaking out about what Benintendi getting $18 million. The Dodger are paying Kyle Tucker $60 million year and his offensive stats are not as good as Beni's.

It's sunk cost, the Dodger might as well DFA Tucker.

The Sox are in an excellent position because they have avoided getting swept or having long losing streaks. That's a big deal.

Nothing could sink this group quicker than having a stretch of say 10 losses in 12 games and with this schedule that certainly was possible. especially with the pitching staff's shortcomings.

They have avoided this and again that's a very big deal.

Nothing pessimistic about that at all. They've done pretty well given the schedule circumstances right now, there's no way in hell they were going to win every game in this stretch against who they were playing.
That's being realistic.

This has to be the most ridiculous hard flex I have ever seen in my time on this site. Kyle Tucker has put up 13.6 fWAR over the past three seasons with a 147 wRC+ over that period. Meanwhile, your boy Andrew has been worth -0.3 fWAR (yes, negative value) with a 94 wRC+ (yes, below league average). That’s cool they are hitting about the same this season…there is reason to believe Tucker will get better while Andrew won’t. And if Benintendi doesn’t get significantly better, he’ll remain a replacement or negative value player who offers no zero roster flexibility and is paid a meaningful amount of money. Hopefully Andrew can stay hot and prove me wrong, but weird player to rally around on like this.

Fedde is coming in after Hudson

Let's take the series! Predicting both Montgomery's (Montomgeri?) with a bomb today.

Yea I figured. I saw a reply to a Hall of Fame Lister who referred to Hudson as our “starter” — figured that had to be wrong unless the Sox had been stretching him out in side seasons or something.

Highly unlikely.

If he shoves, I could see him going 2 max.

We need Colson to get going again. Would be huge to have him on a heater until Mune and Teel are back.

The Catholic in me wants to say Montgomerandi. 🫣

Let’s get the series W

Great double play to erase Romo's mistake

Hudson has been slipping the past couple weeks. Can't even blame him against this lineup though. I hate the Dodgers.

SoxMachine's pre-game notes

Pregame notes: Just trying to get back-to-back series wins against the two best teams in baseball - Sox Machine

a couple items I found interesting

Once he (Yamamoto) realized we didn’t take anything away from him, he didn’t have to live on the edges as much. He was able to fill it up over the middle to avoid the walks. so he had everything going for him and we had a couple of players come up and go, ‘This is kind of electric to watch even though we are the ones on the receiving end.’ Respect is respect.

If Kyle Teel gets through his rehab work for his right knee sprain on Sunday without issue, expect him to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday.

The Sox are staying on rotation through their series in New York this week (Davis Martin, Anthony Kay, Sean Burke), but with Noah Schultz getting through his second bullpen session fine this weekend, expect him to join up with Teel with Charlotte next week as well.

I do not understand Newcomb now. I would let Fedde go through lower half of the batting order then half Newcomb pitch 2 innings later, but maybe Fedde isn’t going to pitch at all.

Colson is putting up some brutal at bats lately. Swinging at balls, taking strikes. He had one pitch to hit and he took it.
