Noah Schultz & Kyle Teel set to begin rehab assignments next week

Schultz on a pitch count, 2-3 innings.

Teel playing today and a day game tomorrow, rest day Thursday, then playing Friday and Saturday. No mention of limiting his defensive innings, but we'll see if he gets any early hooks or a DH day.

With a day game tomorrow, I'd assume he would DH today or tomorrow.

An update added that it's likely 5-6 innings tonight so that he can catch tomorrow.

Boyer had to help persuade Jerry on the marketing side.

I read this article twice, through. It seems to talk about flying space ships around the moon about as many times as they mention "persuading" Reinsdorf, which is zero. Is there another article that covers how Getz and Boyer approached Reinsdorf on their knees, beseeching him to allow them to sign a baseball player, or is that somehow inferred between the lines?

The main reason for the low payroll is the age of the players on the roster due to Jerry’s aversion to spending money in free agency and a continuous strategy of rebuilding.

Mune was $34 million plus a $6.5 million posting fee. That’s chump change in today’s free agency.

Cool story, bro, but the guy found his folded up sweater on top of Resurrection Mary's head stone the next day in the version I heard.

I also watched an interview with Getz in which he stated the same thing. Boyer helped convince Jerry to sign Murakami because of the marketing dollars it would return. I don’t get why you seem to think this is some sort of conspiracy theory. We all know Jerry is a stingy bastard.

EDIT: Here’s one video of AJP talking about it but I know there’s one of Getz saying it himself out there as well…

I’m pretty sure that AJP is referencing the Getz interview when he basically said as much.

Cool sorry, bro, but did he also find Jerry’s hidden coin purse?

I've never heard a version where they said they had to "convince" Reinsdorf. It always sounded like Murakami took them over their initial budget, they did JR the courtesy of letting him know, along with doing a bunch of homework to answer any questions he might have. One of Getz's first interviews on it, he said that Reinsdorf was on board before they got very far into their meeting.

Of all of the people who you can cuck for, imagine picking Jerry Reinsdorf. Like he give two shits about any of us.

Sorry I interfered with the party line. Cuck is a bad word. It makes Mesad.

I swear someone posted that Teel went yard in his first at-bat sometime this morning and I said to myself “Charlotte didn’t play yesterday, so how is that possible?”. Now I’m super confused I actually read that post or not…lol.

Per Jim Margulas of Sox Machine on December 23, 2025:

“It's not like Brooks Boyer could strike overseas marketing deals on a contract that hadn't been signed. Likewise, Getz couldn't promise future spending without first convincing Jerry Reinsdorf to see an investment in Murakami all the way through.”

Now you’ve seen the word “convince” used to describe the signing, outside of the Pierzynski video I posted above in which he said that “Jerry Reinsdorf had to be talked into the signing.” You’re welcome.

I’ve spent the last 5 minutes trying to find it! Glad I didn’t imagine it.

Was he just talking about his first rehab game prior to knee injury?

The owner needs to sign off. We agree. All this stuff between friends and I hope we are friends reminded me of the (gasp) James Shields signing where JR was dead against it (he can read a stat sheet) but let himself be convinced. Smarter than the FO but gave in.

Same

Teel done after 5 innings, went 2-3 with a HR and single.

Shields was never signed by the White Sox.

This whole concept also goes to the larger discussion that Chris Getz apparently doesn't have the independence that we keep getting told makes this different than previous situations if all Jerry did was "sign off" on it.
