9 hours ago9 hr When he was called up last year, my husband noticed that he looks like Nathan from South Park (which makes Vasil Mimsy I guess) so I'll be sad for weird comedy reasons when they eventually get rid of him. But yeah, he strikes out too much and it seems like he might be bad at tagging people out
9 hours ago9 hr His statcast is looking really ugly. I like him as a player but his flaws have been showing up big time the last month. He's a glove first 2B but he's not elite just solid defensively and not sure an xwOBA of .281 is going to play long term. He's gotten lucky with BABIP at .348. He's probably just a solid utility IF without a big increase in his hitting metrics.

I understand starting Meidroth at 2B now with our lack of outfield depth. Ideally next year Brooks Baldwin (or a better free agent) will be in LF with The Chairman at 2B.

Meidroth is going to be very expendable, in fact there are already several viable candidates in the organization.
8 hours ago8 hr Right now, it is so hard to be a good righthanded hitter in mlb. So I feel for Chase. Eventually, he may be a weak side platoon bat with Antonacci?

You don't know if Roch can play second base like Chase does or hit major league pitching with a wood bat. He may turn out to be over-hyped like Vaughn

That said, I personally lean toward Lackey. Edited 7 hours ago7 hr by Lillian

As I have often asserted, it's about balance. The organization seems to have well corrected the previous roster imbalance, to my delight.
6 hours ago6 hr Back in my day the Sox couldn't find a 2B to save their life, now we have way too many.

I would also like to see more of a traditional slugger in LF. We just need to find another Braden Montgomery. 👍🏻Who knows what’s going to happen? Maybe they move around Vargas once Roch is ready to play? Edited 5 hours ago5 hr by WhiteSox2023
3 hours ago3 hr Meidroth has been brutal this month, but is also 24 years old and still growing as a big league player. He will need to make some adjustments because the K rate has been crazy as of late, which is wild for someone with his natural bat to ball skills. Without putting any real thought into it, it does feel like he’s way too far off the plate. I don’t remember when this first happened, but feels like it was in the month of June and doesn’t seem to have worked out for him.

We should ask Schriff about it.
