20 hours ago20 hr This team has more limitations than our record shows and we are still playing well and competing with the tops team in the league every time we face them. We have overachieved by a lot, nobody on this board or who is a fan of this team thought in a million years we would be 5 games above .500 and in 1st place on August 19th. Venable has questionable decisions just like every manager even ones with All star rosters.
14 hours ago14 hr To answer one question and to keep it simple if there are three options that statisticallyOption 1 is correct 45% of the timeOption 2 is correct 40% of the time Option 3 is correct 15% of the time It's easy to be correct 45% of the time. Just keep doing option 1. The best managers are those who have a success rate over 45%. They have decide when option 2 or option 3 is better. But it is tempting to want to replace umpire and in game managerial decisions to a computer.

5 hours ago5 hr Highest win% in baseball when the starters go 5+He makes the right calls when the pen isn't overworked and he has the weapons availableGets far too much blame for not being able to magically pull 15 innings of scoreless pen work out series after series

5 hours ago5 hr We complained we had a manager managing by his gut instead of using new age analytics. We got a new age, analytics manager and we complain he goes by analytics too much.

Very frustrating seeing people complain about having a "bad" pen when they give up 1 run in 5.1 innings or something.

I think Will is doing fine. He will fully deserve whatever accolades he collects after the season.

4 hours ago4 hr Fascinating video on how Hinch's bullpen management has fucked the Tigers. Think we saw it on our series. Have more appreciation for Will's bullpen management after this.

3 hours ago3 hr It seems to be a pattern with new managers........you think they learned nothing from being a bench coach
2 hours ago2 hr Most of the time, bunting is playing not to lose. Playing scared. I remember Ventura doing that in 2012...he really spit the bit down the stretch . Don't need that happening.
