ESPN has Sox playoff odds at 65.6% now vs. 20.9% in May.

ESPN has the Sox playoff odds now at 65.6% up from 20.9% in May, the largest odds increase of any team. Conversely, it had the Guardians playoff odds in May at 88.7% and now at 72.4%. Sox trending in the right direction. I would venture to say Sox should be favorites to win the Central, and make the playoffs. You can put it on the board. Yes!

They very well could...assuming JR lets Getz get the pitching they badly need.

I think the Sox also have like the 3rd easiest schedule left in the AL

Seems about right. There are still a lot of games to play. This team doesn't feel like they are two steps from disaster.

To me they can't afford any more serious injuries especially to a thin pitching staff and Getz if he's allowed to has got to get reinforcements for it.

Have you finally come around and realize this is a very good White Sox team? You dumped on this team numerous times in the beginning of the season.

I just browsed your posts from April and let me tell you, it wasn’t all tra la la from you either

Define your definition of "very good" please.

They are five games over .500, certainly remarkable given the past three seasons but "very good?"

I suggest we wait and see on that moniker. Playing in the worst division in baseball also isn't hurting their cause.

It's not like they are going to win 90+ games.

I've seen a lot of "very good" Sox teams in my time 59, 63, 64, 65, 72, 77, 83, 90, 93, 00, 05, 08, 21.

This one hasn't met that standard yet.

This is a different team that started out the season opener. 3 new outfielders have made a big difference. They've even played winning baseball without Mune. Mune is coming back soon which should make the team better. The 2026 playoffs are within reach. The last 3 months of the season should be great!!!!

The schedule is in their favor but time will tell.

We started off the season 1-5. Since then we have gone 44-35. If that pace continues the rest of the way, then we will win 88 games. 90 wins is certainly a possibility if guys stay healthy.

Also it’s not like there is unbalanced schedules anymore. They are beating a ton of teams outside the division.

I will be a lot more comfortable if we can somehow get to 10+ games over .500. We’ve been around 3-5 games over for quite a spell and one bad week can see us under .500. Maybe once Mune is back we can really get on a roll. We also need Colson to be more consistent. The pitching lately hasn’t been bad and we are right now at league average with a .423 ERA.

They still play more games against teams in the A.L. Central than any others.

That still will go a long way to decide things.

I'd also add if Getz can get the pitching help they badly need at the deadline.

Sox have 10 games left against Cleveland.

It's not that the other games are irrelevant, but those 10 games can effectively cancel everything else out.

Every season is different and these guys are very entertaining. I am going to enjoy the ride. I think they should make the playoffs and that would be outstanding. It's just great to truly care about White Sox baseball again.
