I dunno about you guys but I think it's pretty sweet to be in first place and also have the first pick in the draft.

Mispronouncing the #1 overall pick's last name is HUGE cringe. Jesus f*** Manfred.

I assume you mean the real person, and are not talking about a gritty Netflix revival of Growing Pains.

Correct. 🤣

Roch found out 2 hours before the draft. Guess negotiations were easy.

Related to Charlie?

To me, he seems to be the safest pick. I personally would have been fine with Lackey.

Not that those teams are complaining, but the Bulls may have gotten the best player in the draft because 3 teams above were thinking safe and secure. Although you can’t knock the Peterson pick whatsoever

Nah.

"Who was your favorite player growing up" and it's Bryce Harper.

Harper is 3 days older than me. I'm still in the clear!

Bruh. Who put a White Sox game in the middle of my draft?

Fucking amateurs.

Welcome to MLB.

Anyone know the time per pick? Trying figure out when the Sox will be making their next two picks.

6 months ago we figured Acuna would be our starting CF and probably about replacement level. Things can chance fast and yea you'd hate to move Vargas to 1B so early in his career but hey, we have the uber rare problem of too many good players on the South Side infield.

"We"?

Richard "Boner" Stabone.

Bro hung himself in a park in Vancouver.

Geezus. Ok so the nickname Boner is officially out!

Arraez also has bottom tier bat speed, it isn't everything.

Look below. Chase is 1st, then Arraez. Arraez is god-tier when it comes K/whiff rate and squaring up, and his expected batting average is really high. Chase's expected stats are all well below average.

Lombard must be the Kelenic of this draft

Beloved by a single person who no longer posts here because he may or may not have been outed?

Lombard could end up being the best player in this draft class based off tools alone. There's some work to do for sure on him though. Could be Manny Machado. Kudos to the Marlins if they get there.

It's like people aren't seeing Montgomery's numbers at 3B. I prefer him to stay at SS but I do not trust his back playing there long term.

Don’t mind him moving over myself. Just not for the guy they move him over for.

Is this just an exceptionally strong hitter/weak pitcher draft, or is this a potential league trend? Same thing happened in 2024, so quite recently.

This is a bit of a reach. Astros are up to something too.

I reckon a bit of both.

Lebron taking his talents to Cinci.

Let’s assume $1.3M savings with Roch. We have $1M from the 5% overage and roughly $0.4M of potential savings if we go seniors with our 9th & 10th round selections. That’s $2.7M of additional dollars to work with on top of slot.

Here’s what I want to see with the next four picks today:

  • 01) #034 - Joey Volchko ($2.5M | -$0.4M)

  • 02) #041 - Jack Slightom ($2.3M | +$0.0M)

  • 03) #077 - Landon Thome ($2.3M | +$1.2M)

  • 04) #105 - Joseph Contreras ($2.3M | +$1.6M)

Would still allow us to grab a prep in the 5th for $1M.
