FWIW, complete vs partial would be relevant for recovery. If it's a complete tear there would be a legitimate concern that he would never catch again, at least not at a high enough level. At best would probably extend his recovery past next season.

Crazy that we went from having 2 pretty good catchers to having zero in half a season.

Just a bit too early

Was that a challenge or a crew chief review?

I'm reading it may still need surgery if 50%+ is torn.

Yeah any significant amount of tearing ends his season and probably eats into next season. But less tearing means more optimism for whether he comes back at 100%

Circus Vargas!!!

wow what a swing by Vargas!

Miguel Vargas is such a pleasure to watch when there are runs to knock in. Colson could watch his approach, and learn a TON.

Extend that man!

Venable outmanages Schumaker

Awesome plate coverage

Mune doesn't have his timing fully back and still gets IBB'd

Vargas punishes the audacity of TEX thinking he's an easier matchup

they checked his papers

Man, there's nobody I'd rather have up in the clutch than Vargas. He's so freaking good now.

Great piece of hitting

MVP (for the Sox).

Knowing Acuna is up next, I would have sent Mune

I still let Antonacci hit vs a righty than wasting a bunt to get to Vargas, but hey it worked out

I think in the 8th and 9th everything is a crew chief review, although the teams still ask for them

The Mune effect on this lineup is clear as day. Even when he isn't hitting homers, he makes such a big impact

Finally got a clutch hitter batting cleanup! Get Trevor Richards hot

I can't wait until they DFA Acuña, because I hate run scoring singles.

Acuna did what Colson couldn't!

Save Taylor for tomorrow

Bloop.

Acuna has been hitting fine, and he does it again there

Hey, what do I know?
