Is It Time to Move Colson Down

Featured Replies

All year he has struggled with RISP which fits his three true outcome profile. Additionally he has been in a slump over a 30 game period now whereas he’s striking out at a 30% clip and is only hitting a bomb at about a 1 in 30 ab pace.

That isn’t getting it done from the cleanup spot.

So, while I’m still a huge believer in this kid, I do think it might be a good time to move him down to 5th, 6th, or 7th in the lineup… and move someone else into the cleanup spot who can help us improve our team LOB numbers.

We finally saw it today with Grich in the 4 hole.

What say ya‘ll?

I first thought this thread was about moving him down to AAA. I was ready to explode.

Yea, that would be completely dumb.

I'm not opposed

I thought Ron made this thread and immediately thought that Colson will go on a hot streak.

It’s mental. He’s pressing with RISP and, to make matters worse with RISP, he’s clearly being coached to approach every AB with a “be the aggressor” attitude.

The good news? He seems very coachable, and kinda proved to be in AZ last season.

The bad news? He’s light on instinct and clearly needs to start being coached on situational approaches.

TBF, he did have a few singles/doubles for RBI the last week or so, so perhaps these convos have already started.
