Here is a sketch of what I am hoping to see Fuller bring Doyle back to in some form. I mainly hope to see him more up right with his hands up.

Also hope we see him start to hit the ball in the air… I’m not expecting they’ll bring changes into his offensive game for a couple of weeks and for now they’ll likely just let his weak bat ride while seeking value from his defense.

This guy has gotten taken to the woodshed in almost every deal he's made, and the ones that weren't bad ended up successful because the player put in a s%*# ton of work 2 years after the deal (vargas). The legend of Chris Getz now rests almost entirely on Vargas, Colson, Peters/Doyle, lucking into Mune, Luis Castillo returning to form and Cholowsky over Lackey, which I’m still not convinced was the right move (irrespective of one week of A ball at bats).

On the starting pitching side, only Burke has made progress, with Davis Martin continuing to implode.

Trying to find any positives from the beat down in Boston. Doyle did have a put out in his first game with the Sox. That's about all I could come up with. Tonight it's pay back time.

How did Doyle look last night? I watched part of the 1st (turned off after the grand slam) and then had to board a flight. Saw him chasing down some balls off the green monster, but nothing else.

What the hell, man? Until you go through something like this, don't talk about it. Trust me, it is NOT a bump in the road. It's devastating and something you get through, not over.

My oldest son is getting ready to start college. He just found out recently that one of his football teammates and classmates at Brother Rice died in a car accident. The kid hadn’t even turned 18 yet. I can’t imagine how the parents must feel right now. I know I wouldn’t be able to focus on my job, and I damn sure wouldn’t care about the game of baseball for a long while, if ever.

I'm going through IVF with my wife right now, hasn't been successful for about a year and a half and it's certainly taxing and I have my wife by my side most days. I can't imagine how painful losing a child at any age would be. There's this sense in the IVF circles that once the child is born you can relax a little so to spreak, but then you hear stuff like this where tragedy can strike at any moment. To say someone should put that all aside to focus on playing a child's game is a pretty brutal take.

Wouldn't judge a person going through either (miscarriage or your scenario) but I think the two are a little different!

It's extremely common. We found out at 20 weeks, but it was likely a "silent miscarriage" that she carried for 3-4 weeks before we found out…
