With Bonemer and Cholowsky both RH the Sox are fast becoming a RH power team . It may not matter if both become very good however I like Getz's original instincts that LH power is crucial to your lineup. Mune is very crucial to the White Sox continuing to give the majority of Starting pitchers fits with his power and OBP.

Teel back today? Or do they wait until tomorrow and carry 3 catchers?

I think yesterday was the first day he caught a full game. Probably still in a see how it responds mode so can't see having him fly today and play tonight. I hope they give him enough time that his bat can help as well though I am not sure an extra couple games matters there. He is on a rehab assignment so he should remain post season eligible unless I am off on something.

If both Tyler Gilbert & Tyler Davis go down, then Martin Davis and Teel comes up you have your 3rd catcher.

I know, that's why I added the second part about waiting until tomorrow. Thorpe was supposed to start yesterday and didn't so I think someone will go down today and he will be activated.

They need to keep Romo on the team for chemistry purposes, and the pitching staff likes throwing to him.

Can’t imagine they wouldn’t go with 3 catchers and also use Teel at DH more to try to keep him healthy.

I don't see that, their DH platoon is too good to interrupt with Kyle Teel who lets be honest has not looked good at all this year, I don't know if I would even put him on the playoff roster

Yeah, it would be one thing if say, Teel was a RHH catching and you'd DH'd him against lefties with Grichuk in the OF to get another catcher in to keep Teel fresh but he's lefty and struggles against lefties. Don't want to mess with Benintendi much

I was watching the Sox Machine podcast this morning with Jim Margulis and Josh Nelson. They discussed that since the Sox signed Tommy Phan the Sox will most likely go with only 2 catchers. Jim said Rogers is out of options, but Romo still has options, so he believes Romo goes down when Teel is brought up.

that's crazy to use Romo all year and then tell him sorry bro, you're not going to the playoffs

I'm not even advocating for Romo but the optics are horrible if this is what happens

I would keep Romo and DFA Rogers. IMO, Romo has been pretty solid behind the plate even though he has struggled offensively. Also, Romo seems to have a batter rapport with the pitching staff (just my opinion/ perception) and he has done a pretty good job framing pitches and challenging strike calls. Rogers is a Detroit Tiger at heart and always will be.

We will have to see how this all plays out, by sending Romo down they still have his rights and can call him back up. Sending Rogers down risks another team picks him up. With the pitching, especially relievers there could be a revolving door with call ups and players sent down until the playoffs.

Once the playoffs start teams are back to a 26 man roster.

Sounds good as long as Teel doesn't get reinjurned.

Teel and Rogers makes more sense as a platoon. Rogers has a 125 wRC+ vs. lefties and Teel can't hit lefties at all. Romo is a bad hitter against anyone, but is slightly better against lefties.

Yea . Rogers mentioned in an interview that he had played inmany , many games at Rate Field on other teams (primarily the Tigers). I really loathe the Tigers, but anyway, I just don't like Rogers. Someone mentioned that he looked like an aging porn star. LOL. Anyway, Romo deserves it.

Teel played tonight. Feel like he’ll fly to Chicago tonight or tomorrow to meet the team this weekend. But honestly not sure. Just a guess.
